Great view from our room Wifi service we found to be very poor Bathroom towels like cardboard
Myself & my husband stayed in this hotel on an overnight trip. We were very disappointed with the out-of-date technology & decor in our room. The T.V did not work, we were provided with only 1 towel between the 2 of us, and the decor in the room was outdated. We had to queue approx 10 minutes to ...
This was a perfectly fine place to spend a night. This was a condo near the beach that was rented out. No frills, good view of the water (and the amusement park across the street), If you were planning a beachfront holiday, this would be a low-cost, no frills way to do so.
Spacious home close to the beach with amazing views. However, some of the bathrooms need upgrading as there was a problem controlling the water temperature.
Bundoran is one of the most popular seaside resorts in Ireland, attracting families wanting to experience a fun-filled holiday and surfers wanting to try out some of the best waves in the country. It’s particularly popular during the summer but there is always plenty of accommodation to choose from. Bundoran has two beaches and a whole host of attractions, from traditional amusement arcades and fairground rides to water parks and coastal walks.
With large crowds to cater for, there is a wide range of hotels, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts, holiday homes, apartments and hostels on offer in the resort, with many of them handily located close to the seafront. Bundoran is a great place to enjoy the magic of the seaside and the perfect base for exploring County Donegal’s stunning coastal landscape.
Bundoran bursts into life during the summer months, with the holiday season boosting the resident population of under 2,000 to about 30,000. In 2012, National Geographic magazine named it as one of the world’s top 20 surf towns and its waves pull in visitors from all over Ireland, Europe and further afield.
It has two beaches, one of which is just 100 yards from the resort’s main street. This is perfect for youngsters wanting to build sandcastles and have a paddle and for mums and dads who want to sit back and relax. It also means there are gift shops, ice cream stalls and takeaways nearby.
Surfers, meanwhile, head for magnificent Tullan Strand. Surfing has become increasingly popular in recent years and has helped Bundoran become a year-round holiday destination. No matter when you visit you will be able to find somewhere to go surfing in and around the resort, with countless beaches and reef breaks in the area.
There are also a number of surf shops in the town full of the latest clothes, boards and accessories along with surf schools where beginners can try their hand at the exhilarating sport. Bundoran also has its own dedicated bodyboarding school.
If you don’t fancy hitting the surf you could opt for a spot of kayaking or canoeing at Donegal Adventure Centre or take a trip on Donegal Bay on one of the waterbuses providing a 75-minute tour which takes in seal-inhabited islands and historic sites.
Bundoran Adventure Park provides a great family day out with its wide range of rides and attractions and is just a stone’s throw from the beach. Also located on the seafront, Waterworld is one of Ireland’s most popular aqua adventure parks. It boasts a wave pool, slide pool, tornado and twister flumes, speed slides, a pirate galleon and a toddlers’ play area.
With its wide range of family attractions and world-famous surf, Bundoran is the perfect location for an exciting holiday. Whatever you are planning to do during your stay you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation, with some top quality options available just yards from the beach.
