"Central"
The staff went above and beyond to help us out with a broken cash card. So friendly. Loved the 2 nights we spent there. Really central, yet quiet and spotlessly clean

"Beautiful location and hotel, room like a sauna!"
We had a one night stay at the hotel. Everything was as you would expect for a hotel of this standard and the location is wonderful close to the lake with forest and lake walks. We were in a courtyard room and there was torrential rain during our stay which meant we got wet during our trips to and from the main hotel, also puddles had formed on pathway which resulted in our feet getting wet as well. The major issue with our stay was with the underfloor heating in the room which appeared to be stuck on maximum. We had to open doors and windows to get relief from the heat - it must have been at least 35 degrees, very uncomfortable! We know from other friends staying in these rooms that the heat was oppressive in their rooms as well.

"Great Aussie flavour"
A comfortable B&B, with great views of the estuary. Claire and John have spent some time in Australia and that made our stay a bit better as we discussed their experiences. Also tis is the first B&B where we were welcomed into the sitting room when the family were in occupation, which made it a very friendly and intimate visit. Our room on the ground floor (I couldn't face the stairs , was very comfortable and we had control of the heating, which for us was great. Breakfast was sumptuous and almost more than I could get down. Claire was happy to do a bit more than you might expect in providing explicit requests.

" traditional country house. full of memorabilia"
The hotel was very quiet on arrival with a very friendly welcome. We were shown to a large room in the outside building. As it turned out, we were the only residents. The room was warm and cosy and very clean. We spent some time in the bar and had a fantastic meal. The menu was varied with plenty of choice. Several diners from the village dined. Comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast rounded off a pleasant stay.

"Wish I found it sooner"
I stayed here only one night in the cabin / apartment next to the main building, but wish I had found it earlier so I could stay an extra night or two as it's a great location to serve as a base in western Donegal - less than an hour from Slieve League It was wonderful. The cabin had a futon downstairs along with a mini-kitchen and full bath. The loft upstairs had a bed fit under the "A" frame roof. The bed was very comfortable - best sleep of my trip. Upon arrival, the owner greeted me and offered a beverage. After showing me around, he suggested I go to a pub down the road for some traditional Irish music. It was a great introduction to the area, and exactly what I wanted. The next morning, the breakfast was great - full irish, or whatever else I wanted along with smoked salmon, cheese, meats, and of course, some great coffee and chat. If you're in the area and looking for a good place to stay - look no further, this is it.

Pocket Guide: Donegal Bundoran Golf Club Hotels

Golfers from all over the world are drawn to the Republic of Ireland, a country brimming with challenging courses in stunning locations. Bundoran is home to one of the most popular, and anyone wanting to play its 18 holes will have plenty of choice when it comes to choosing where to stay.

You could opt for a few days in a four star hotel if you want to enjoy a taste of luxury during your trip. Restaurants serving high quality food and offering leisure, fitness, sauna and spa facilities can all be enjoyed if you want to make the most of your golfing holiday.

With its reputation as a busy seaside resort, Bundoran has lots of other options when it comes to accommodation. Many of its hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts are dotted around the town centre, close to the beach and just a short drive away from the golf club. A stay in one of these might give you a break from the pressures posed by all those greens and fairways!

    Holes to Remember

Bundoran Golf Club boasts a par 70 course which sweeps along the dramatic County Donegal coastline. A mixture of dunes and undulating terrain make up the 18 holes, all of which enjoy fabulous panoramic views, whether it be vistas of the wild Atlantic Ocean to the west or the magnificent Dartry Mountains to the east. Whichever hole you’re playing, the views will ensure a round at Bundoran lives long in the memory.

    Everything You’ll Need

Bundoran’s clubhouse has everything a visiting golfer could wish for. The first port of call for most players is the pro shop, where you can book your round, hire a buggy or trolley and pay your fees. The shop is also the area’s leading supplier of golf equipment, with clubs, bags, balls, trolleys and other accessories available, along with a wide range of casual and waterproof clothing for men and women. You can also book a lesson with the club’s resident professional.

The clubhouse has full changing and shower facilities for both sexes and, outside, there is a practice fairway and putting green and a large car park.

    The 19th Hole

Situated alongside the ninth tee, the clubhouse is perfectly located for golfers to pop into the shop for some refreshments midway through their round. Once you’ve finished you can, of course, retire to the 19th hole for a well-deserved rest. In comfortable surroundings overlooking the 18th green you can relax with a drink, enjoy a bar snack, watch television or play a game of snooker. The clubhouse has been extensively refurbished and visiting golfers are welcome to enjoy the incredible views on offer from the large balcony.

    Hotel Choices

Bundoran Golf Club attracts visitors throughout the year, particularly during the summer months. However, the resort’s wide range of hotels, guesthouses, holiday homes and bed and breakfasts should ensure that you find a great place to stay no matter what time you pay a visit.
