Had an overnight stay in this hotel recently(August,2020). Check-in,room facilities, staff and location were all great. However, we did not have a restful night—hotel is located along a busy street, and we could hear loud drones of vehicles passing by. Also, during the night, there was this persistent high-pitched clanging sounds coming from outside and when I investigated, they were apparently the ropes tied on the poles that lined the bridge being swayed by the wind. On top of these noises, just when I got myself to sleep at 12pm,the fire alarm sounded in the hotel!!We thought the building was actually on fire but when we looked at the corridor, there was no smoke nor anyone running towards the exit. Noticed other guests opening their doors and just peeked out, looking just as dazed as myself! The alarm went on for about 1-2minutes until it finally died down but this caused me to have an uneventful and unrestful night🙁🙁🙁. Apart from the soundproofing and that unfortunate fire-alarm during our stay in Maddens, all other else were great: staff are so helpful, booking for meals was easy and straightforward. The food were excellent!!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone only if they would sort out the soundproofing of the rooms.
