Situated in Donegal, this hotel is steps away from O'Donnel's Castle and Donegal Castle. Donegal Bay Waterbus and Bluestack Mountains are also within 3 miles (5 km).
The only real positive about the hotel is its location. Check in was a bit chaotic with a packed lobby and only one booking allowed at the front desk at one time. Through no fault of the hotel we arrived after being caught in a storm so having to wait a long time to get out of soaking clothes wasn't ideal. When checked in we weren't told what way to get to our room and had to try and find the stairs as the lift was out of order. The hotel also has a one way system at the minute which means you can only use the front lift to go up and back lift to go down so any one that has difficulty with stairs will be in trouble. The room was OK, nothing special and very dated with a very noisy bed. I specifically also refined my search when booking to include parking which the hotel says it has but it doesn't. You have to park nearby in a public carpark and hope for the best that your car is safe. The car parks are free after 6 but its a hassle having to sort out paying for it the following morning before checking out. An OK stay overall but probably wouldn't return as we stayed in much better locations other nights that were much better value for money.

no parking at hotel it said that there was parking
The rooms were in bad need of renovation and the carpets could do with being changed. Our room had no towels when we arrived. I phoned reception to let them know and headed out for dinner. We returned to our room to find the towels in the bathroom and on top of our suitcase which is not in line with the current COVID guidelines. We left the following day and forfeited the second night. Instead we checked into the Mill Park which was a beautiful hotel - you get what you pay for!
