How do I ensure I have booked a pet-friendly room in Donegal?
To ensure you've booked a pet-friendly room on Expedia, use the filters in your search and select "Pet friendly" under the "Amenities" section. This will narrow your options to properties that allow pets. Once you find a hotel you're interested in, click on it and review the "Policies" section for specific details about their pet policy. This often includes information about pet types, size restrictions, fees, and whether pets are allowed in all rooms or only certain ones. When selecting your room type, read the room description to check that its pet-friendly, as not all rooms in a pet-friendly hotel may accommodate pets. For added peace of mind, contact the hotel directly to confirm the room you've selected allows pets.
What pet-friendly activities should we do in Donegal?
The best pet-friendly activities in Donegal include exploring the natural beauty of the region and visiting specific attractions that welcome pets.

For dog owners, a trip to Donegal wouldn't be complete without a visit to the stunning beaches. Many of Donegal's beaches are pet-friendly, especially during the off-peak season. Rossnowlagh Beach, for example, offers miles of sandy shore great for a stroll with your dog, and there are often fewer crowds, allowing for a relaxed experience. Similarly, Murvagh Beach near Ballintra is another excellent option, known for its forest backdrop and expansive sand dunes. These locations are ideal for families or couples who enjoy outdoor activities and want to include their furry friends.

Another excellent pet-friendly option is walking through the various forest parks and trails. Ards Forest Park, located near Dunfanaghy, is a fantastic choice. It offers several well-maintained walking trails that wind through woodlands, along the coast, and past historical sites like a ring fort and a dolmen. Dogs are welcome here as long as they are kept on a lead. This park provides a great opportunity for families or couples to enjoy a day out in nature, with plenty of space for dogs to explore safely.
