I arrived late after a long and tiring walk and was very pleasantly surprised to find that I had been upgraded to a double room. The bed was comfy and the bathroom had plenty of top branded toiletries to use. Plenty of tea and coffee also. There was no internet access in the room (No.18) because of its distance from the router but this was freely available in the lounges so not a problem.
There was a supply of daily newspapers to peruse in the lounge and a very adequate supply of comfy armchairs...

I used to stay at this Hotel on a regular (often fortnightly) basis a few years ago as it offered well above average accommodation. I liked its location, which gave a balanced mix of easy access with rural unspoilt views, which is a rare treat for anybody who spends weeks driving up and down the Motorway networks. The CB Inn has the best of a pub in terms of atmosphere and welcome, but the status of a hotel with the quality of the rooms and brilliant cuisine. All the staff were interested and knowledgeable about the food we ordered. The setting is idyllic, looking down the peaceful dale, with walks all around from the doorstep.

What a lovely welcoming hotel in the centre of the village. Our dog had his own special treat on arrival of Posh dog wine. This made us all smile. I had let them know it was are anniversary and we also had a lovely surprise in our room. But oh my goodness the food it phenomenal from breakfast to lunch and then dinner WoW! Thank you for making our stay so lovely. We will be back
