Convenient location

Posted 20-Oct-2017
Cons: Need more staff on the reception desk when the hotel is busy to speed up check in. More staff needed at breakfast when hotel is busy.
Comfy room. Good location. Close to Bristol town centre. Convenient for Arnos Vale Cemetry wedding venue

Nice hotel.

Really friendly staff. An older building, single glazed / naturally could benefit from some modernising so prices are quite low therefore. Room 279 bathroom has bad drain smell that needs sorting however!!

Hotel with character.

Posted 28-Sep-2017
Pros: That friendliness.
Cons: Like all old buildings, there is always work to be done, but it cannot all happen at once.
Location: Good location for proximity to station. Lots to do in Bristol.
Great welcome. Interesting inside and out . A very old hotel, a bit tired in parts but mostly lovely with an imposing main staircase and lovely ceiling.

Good transport link

Posted 16-Sep-2017
Pros: It's location
Cons: Rooms could be updated and staff more attentive especially in the bar area when food was ordered.
Location: Good location for Bristol, Bath and surrounding areas
Girl on reception very helpful when we asked to move room due to traffic noise. Chambermaid service very poor, and customer service extremely poor throughout our 4 night stay ! Found out other guests had similar problems to us. This is our second visit to the Arnos Manor and sad to say the standards had dropped considerably.

Lovely frying staff but money want from room

Posted 11-Sep-2017
Pros: Not a lot
Cons: So much, towels in room as only one was left for 2 guests, security, implementation of a proper complaint procedure, not having to ask food at brekfas
Location: Close enough to Bristol centre and easy to get to on bus
Mixed really, lovely staff then after housekeeping, £40 was taken from my purse. Manager not too bothered, no incident report, no response after a week of sending in a complaint, disco till 1 in the morning then drunk swearing guests until 2am

Last minute decision - pleasant surprise - quirky!

Posted 10-Sep-2017
Pros: Everything, some things could definitely be improved with a little investment, but we were happy with plenty of parking and large comfortable rooms.
Cons: Bigger television in room 120 would be nice, and strangely enough, bigger bins without flip tops!
Location: Close to Bristol, not far from park & ride, opposite a shopping centre with restaurants, supermarket with cheaper fuel etc.
We had to stay fairly near to Bath because our dog is in hospital there, so decided prices were more acceptable in the Bristol area. Went online and looked at hotels near me, whilst at a shopping centre and Arnos Manor came up first as nearest. Booked it immediately, and just needed somewhere to regroup whilst visiting our dog. Lovely place, definitely could benefit from a little investment, but was extremely friendly, helpful & clean. We had a quirky room with a large but low 'hobbit' bathroom. The staff couldn't do enough for us and we ended up staying two nights and will stay there again when we next visit our dog. The Gothic style is very attractive and the hotel itself is interesting and a pleasant change from the bespoke modern hotels.

Arnos Manor

Posted 07-Sep-2017
Pros: Spacious accommodation.
Cons: Bathrooms are a little dated and up-dating the bathrooms alone would be an up-grade.
Location: N/A
Hotel is functional but offers a room and breakfast at very favourable rates compared to some of the inner city hotels. I am sure that the Hotel could embark on a program of extensive modernisation to bring it in line with contemporary hotels in the area, but undoubtedly over-night stay costs would increase.

Lovely setting

Posted 02-Sep-2017
Pros: Staff , room , food, comfort
Cons: Lift installed , working air bath, milk on tea tray cheaper house red wine
Location: Close to family for us and town
Lovely place no lift so need to be fit to climb up 3 floors carrying luggage , meals were not expensive , break fast was good red wine expensive need a cheaper house red But on whole good for a value for money hotel the bed in our superior room was wonderful so comfy the air bath didn't work very disappointed , no milk on tea tray had to go search to get some . But after saying all that would recommend to friends enjoyed our stay very much will use again

Cheap and cheerful

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Hotel is cheap and in need of refurbishment. Nice hotel as part of a Manor House. Good curry restaurant nearby. Centre of Bristol a few miles away.
