Lovely place to stay. Was just the two of us. We would say 2nd bedroom is suitable for children rather than infants or adults, due to steep stairs, and layout of the room. Teenagers would love it I'd imagine. Only thing that let it down slightly was the small seating area outside. Just needs a little TLC. A quick sweep out would have helped. Other than that Masham and this property well worth visit, if maybe slightly over priced.

Nice stay

Great little cottage fantastic location clean, quiet, well equipped we will be back

Superb property in Church Fenton. Perfectly situated for trips to York, Leeds and other places in Yorkshire. The property itself was high quality and thoughtfully appointed. Will definitely be back to stay, highly recommended.

Anne, out host, had thought of just about everything and a bit more. The annex is compact with a friendly feel to it and all equipment is excellent quality. Anne’s efforts to welcome us with necessities went beyond expectations and our stay was without hitches of any kind. Brilliant!

The property was beautiful and the owner, David, was very welcoming.

Very nice location and a well equipped cottage. Owner also very friendly

Had a lovely stay. Very clèan rooms and comfortable beds. Nice to have 2 en-suite bathrooms. We arrived to find a box of Border biscuits - that was a nice touch. Thanks to the landlord

Enjoyed the location of the property, lovely and quiet. Property very clean and well kept

Lovely old property with lots of character. Comfortable beds and nicely furnished. As a group of friends we enjoyed our stay. 20 min taxi or bus ride into York. Very few negatives. Bit of road noise as it's a busy road, a few hair dryers would have been nice, description said it was near a shop, but not the case.

had a wonderful stay at Mosscarr Barn over the weekend with our family. The accommodation was spotless and beautifully presented, making it feel really welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location is absolutely lovely – peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing break away. A special mention for the host, who was excellent throughout – friendly, helpful, and made everything so easy for us. It really added a personal touch to the whole experience. All in all, a fantastic place to stay and...

Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future!

Excellent, lovely property Needs a guest book so that you can add your comments Fabulous cafe and village shop next door so breakfast is a must! Fabulous homemade produce Such fantastic hosts

Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for.

We rather liked Kemps Yard, which must be fairly new to the listing. Very convenient for Thirsk town, quietly hidden away from the main road, and clean and cosy. Parking in the yard is almost impossible, although the neighbour is an expert at manoeuvring his pickup down the lane! The visitor's permit lets you park on the road and saves you from endangering your vehicle, but you may get your step count up while you unload. We were ok with the cobbled lane, but it wouldn't be so good for those...
