We battled the snow for a stay here and were so glad we did. The hotel is beautiful with all the wooden beams and real log fires and our bedroom was a really good size. Both dinner and breakfast were yummy and my husband even had a treatment in the spa which he enjoyed. My only criticism would be the lack of music. Other than the airman’s bar the whole building was in silence I think some light background music would have been nice and added some atmosphere. I understand a lot of your guests...

Highly recommend this above all others if staying in Long Melford. The two superb rooms are five star. We had a wonderful stay and a great breakfast.

Cory, the manager of The Fox, is a lovely host. Super hard working, he is around to serve breakfast and still managing the bar late at night. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and warm. Parking is immediately outside the rooms and easily accessed. Bury St Edmund’s is a lovely town with excellent shopping and coffee shops. Strongly recommend staying at The Fox for visiting Bury St Edmunds.

Stayed for one night to attend a wedding reception locally. Was greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist, who also ordered us a taxi to get us to the wedding reception. The room was very spacious and bed comfortable. Plenty of towels provided. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. No complaints, would stay again.

We loved our stay in the Abbey Hotel and apartments, the staff, breakfast & attention to detail were amazing. Very easy walk into the town centre with its unique shops, pubs & restaurants, also not forgetting the Cathedral & Abbey Gardens. Bury St Edmunds is a must to visit.

I believe it had just reopened after being closed for a whilst for refurbishment. Having not seen the before i cannot comment on the works undertaken. However the place i visited was super, friendly staff (dont think they had been refurbished), great room and very comfy. Very welcoming hosts and very accomodating to matching my business schedule.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting our son who had recently joined the armed forces. It was a very convenient location and a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and well equipped and the bar lounge was cosy and relaxing after a long journey. Breakfast the next morning was good and set us up for our busy day ahead. Hopefully we will be returning again soon.

A pleasant, comfortable and clean place to stay, but would have liked to see more healthy options, (e.g. salads) on the dinner menu. Gym modern and good size for a hotel.

With the warmest of greetings I was shown to my room. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. This is the first time I have slept all night in a hotel or B&B for many years. Breakfast was delicious and gave me a tremendous start to my day. Thank you so very much.

Visiting Family in the area and found this to be the perfect base. Easy access to the A14 and Bury St Edmunds, but in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle.

We were attending a funeral at 2pm on the day of check-in - out three rooms were made available for us by noon to enable us to attend the funeral stress free. The hotel furnishings, rooms, bathrooms could do with an upgrade but were generally fine. The shower over the bath was very powerful. The staff were very polite and willing to help.

Very friendly staff , gorgeous room with huge comfy bed! Mineral water ,luxury soap etc and hot chocolate for the kids!! Lovely breakfast and wonderful service ! The best thing was our little dog was welcome too in the hotel and the pub. Great location as it makes a nice stop when visiting center parcs especially if your bringing your doggy friend !
