Considering the age of the property, dating from 1456, the rooms were beautifully modernised whilst keeping the original features. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and I honestly can’t fault anything. The only negative was the heat but nothing anyone could do about that!!!

The room was clean and had drinks in fridge and biscoff biscuits alongside tea,coffee etc
Beds were comfortable and had good nights rest. Shower was good and water hot. A lovely nights sleep. There was traffic noise but didn’t affect our sleep and we slept soundly.I would stay again.

This hotel is for chillers only. Just relax and forget all your worries. Fantastic food, great staff, top class facility. BUT; dont have a 2nd floor room when it's the hottest weekend of the year. Not that you'll know when you book but it was just too hot. No air conditioning just a small noisy fan so took the edge off the chill factor! However, its was a fantastic base to explore west Suffolk. Do try it.......

We have stayed at the Colchester Boutique Hotel before. Lorraine made us very welcome and she was very helpful on giving us directions before we arrived. Our room was full of character, very clean with luxurious bath products, a good range of teas/coffee and complimentary water on arrival. There is a fabulous Indian restaurant next door called Basca but we didn't have time to visit as we were here for a gig at the Colchester Arts Centre which was only a short walk away. Roland looked after us...
