Colchester Hotel Guide. Independent Hotels in Colchester, Essex

Facilities were good but the room had a door that lead to the next room. This was of course locked but had no sound proofing. As a result I did not sleep very well because of the noise.

First visit to Colchester and Essex made memorable by hotel quality. Decor, service, food, ambience, value for money all exceptional. Location next to lovely Castle Park - one of few high points of Colchester. Good choice of bar menu, set restaurant menu and A La Carte. Free mini bar and good bathroom accessories and hot drinks. Quiet and clean. Very tasteful decor and relaxing, comfortable terrace with rattan furniture. Staff well trained, numerous and amiable. Breakfast elegant, good choice of fresh seasonal fruit, pastries, etc. Very tasty cooked breakfast with two types of bacon, sweet cherry tomatoes on the vine and poached eggs cooked to perfection. No delays, no hassles - a great 2 night break. Wyvenhoe worth a visit. Beth Chatto's garden a must see.

Very good, nice hotel and nice room. Would recommend for a nights stay away.
