Nice hotel, but not enough information on arrival, charges vary if you don't pre-book all you want, which is difficult if you never been to hotel before. £15.00 fee for hotel car park (thought it was free), Also breakfast prices differ

"Great city views and lovely room. "
Cardiff is a lovely city to walk around in with lots of things to do within easy reach. The Mercure itself was lovely, nicely decorated with excellent facilities. Breakfast was awesome. If you do have an extended check out time, make sure you remind the staff. As they just came in to our room past 12pm. Quite annoying.

"Perfect short stay away from Bristol."
The most striking thing is the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to serve. We also liked the layout of the rooms and facilities: the open plan approach to the reception, lounge areas and bar. The spa and pool are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. The food is exquisite. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard. We found it all in all a luxurious and relaxing treat.

Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa

Expected a bit more from a 4* hotel. Especially from the staff. In middle of night had go outside my room cause there were people shouting. We could hear people talking almost like if they were inside our room. Children running and knocking at the door. Every morning no one from reception asked how has it been our stay if was everything alright. Even from the restaurant. Maybe I created false expectations but I couldnt expect less from a 4* hotel. Also our room was a bit dusty.

Ordered 2 drinks at very quiet bar, we were strongly encouraged to take a seat by bar staff, for our drinks to be brought over. On bill we were charged for this service & tax on top of the advertised price of the drinks. Price increased by £4. Just felt this could have been made clear at the time, as we were more than happy to wait for a prosecco and simple cocktail.

"Brecon Beacons Gateway"
This hotel is perfectly situated for accessing the beautiful Brecon Beacons. It is a well appointed hotel and has its own Spa. The food is excellent and plentiful, the staff are welcoming and friendly. It has a large open air car park and parking is free. If you are not staying at the hotel but want to go somewhere that provides an excellent meal you should try the bar or restaurant. From the hotel there is easy access South to Cardiff and northwards towards Mid Wales and The Midlands. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel and will definitely return.

"Nice hotel out of town"
Well run hotel. Rooms older style but excellent. Staff were superb and very helpful. Food was also good and well priced. The hotel is slightly out of town and will cost you £15 in a taxi one way
