Clean enough and spacious room. Parking on site included with plenty of spaces. The building is a little run down but for the price it served the purpose.
The hotel could do with major redecoration. However, it was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the wifi was very good, the TV was better than average, the location was great if you need to take a train, parking was free. I did not have breakfast. No complaints.
The room was a good size with a bath.
Only 1 pillow each which was very flat so the next day I asked at reception if I could have another two pillows to be told no they only have enough for two pillows in each room so I said I’m sure not every room is booked out can you please sort 2 pillows she said she will have a word with housekeeping and get them sent up. They never turned up. Also I only drink tapwater with a lot of ice my husband drinks Coke with no ice. I asked for a pint glass with just ice because it was hot, so it would melt quickly. To be told no, she is saving that for people who buy drinks I said I’m buying a can of Coke as well and her answer was your husband doesn’t want Ice with that. Because of the staff, I would not stay here again.
This place is best avoided it’s very run down, dated and poorly maintained. It’s fine for anyone wanting somewhere very close to the station and cheap. I wish I had looked around more for other accommodation and read the reviews (especially on Google).
Avoid. Room smelt like cigarettes, so did the towels and bedsheets. The walls look like Rolf Harris spent the night with a box of viagra. Even the radiators looked like they’d pissed themselves in fear. This place was abhorrent and truthfully what I imagine hell looks like.
That being said the fella behind the counter was pretty chill.
Close to where we needed to be,comply bed.
Parking is chargeable £8.20-24hrs
Says restaurant,but no breakfast served.
Loud music going on 1.30am
Our door was broken, was told at check in,we was given impression someone was coming to look,no one did.
Could not turn the water down to the shower, far too hot,so gave it a miss.
Bathroom door did not shut, debris from that door in the bathroom.
Only two staff for everything ; room wasn’t ready one went off to hoover it , couldn’t park, couldn’t eat as restaurant was closed, no wine left in the bar.
Very badly stained carpet, curtains hanging of the rail, bathroom toilet system didn’t fit generally
Really bad old & tired Hotel
The hotel is dirty and needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard, the fire safety is a major concern.
I was woken at 00:30hrs by someone banging on my door.
And at 04:30 hrs I was woken again by someone knocking on a door in the corridor as the hotel seems to filled with foreign workers who first language is not english.
Upon arrival the room was in a very poor condition cigarette burns all over the carpet and bed base.Carpers were filthy and so was the skirtings not fit for a dog to even live in.The hallway up to the room was stinking of fresh cigarette smoke which came into the room we stayed all but five minutes as our little girl and us could not stay there we were refused a refund but we are going to take this much higher as this should not be let out to anyone
On arrival, I was told my booking was cancelled “because I never paid” - it was booked as pay on arrival. So she said she’d check and then there was a room anyway…
The corridors stink of smoke, the wall was filthy - I really don’t want to know what the white stuff was, judge for yourself. The toilet had a hole it in so leaked over the floor. The shower had less pressure than squirting a bottle of water over yourself, the TV didn’t work.
They provide you tea and coffee but no kettle… weird. You have to ask for one. We also had a light in our room that wouldn’t turn off so I had to take the lightbulb out. Again, weird.
Looks, let’s be honest, for £55 for the night when Take That were on, it was never going to be great. I was there for 8 hours and if you just need somewhere to lay your head and don’t care about the rest, it’ll “do.”
This place needs to just be taken over, given some TLC and I’m sure it would be as great as it (probably was) back in the 70s.
Never will I ever go there again bad manement bad place to stay showers don’t work at all. Felt like a crackheads house place stunk of crack a weed. Bed was like sleeping in a brick wall. Floor was like stepping on sand paper that place needs new management new decorations and hole lot of fixing up wasn’t of my money terrible terrible don’t no go there I warn you ‼️‼️‼️‼️

Not a great experience
Check in process not easy. Receptionist said I have no reservation and had no knowledge of Hotels.com. It took several attempts to convince them to double check and finally found the booking against my name.
Room was ok but cold - radiator was very week and television not working. I won't be going back.
