"A very nice stay with friendly , welcoming and efficient staff, great evening meal. Pleased with the room, and a 7 minute walk to the botanical gardens and other park. Nice residential area, but plenty of amenities and restaurants nearby. Would like to go back sometime"
"The staff were all lovely and helpful, the room was beautiful, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was first class - we’ll definitely be back if we have another event in Sheffield!"
"Great value for money in a lovely location. Service was excellent throughout our stay. Food was of a very high quality. The accommodation seemed new and nicely designed. All in all a great place to stay!"
"A lovely location to stay for a few days walking.
Owners and staff welcoming and friendly, good food, breakfast & evening, good service. Shepherds huts are clean, warm & cosy.
Within good distance for both Chatsworth House & Bakewell also good walks from the inn.

"The location is very good, just a few yards from coffee shops restaurants and shops. The bungalow has its own parking space which is great. The garden was lovely and safe for the children to play. The bedrooms were ok the beds were very comfortable, one bedroom had a wet room but was a little outdated. The lounge had a large TV and seating for six. The kitchen was good with a dinning area. The only thing that let the place down was that the carpets were stained and the dinning area carpet was threadbare. The kitchen had new oven and hob but the kitchen utensils and saucpans were greasy and needed washing. The bungalow could be very nice, but could do with decorating, new curtains and carpets and kitchen draws and cupboards cleaned and emptied of empty jam jars and plastic bags."
"We had 2 rooms one of which was accessible for an elderly relative. The accessible room on the ground floor was big enough for a wheelchair and had a huge wet room. The other room was a huge double with another large bathroom including spacious rain head shower cubicle.
Both rooms were clean and beds comfortable.
There was no air con but fans were provided.
There were also plenty of sockets beside the beds for plugging devices.
Both rooms had a coffee machine with pods and fresh milk available in a fridge in the corridor along with complimentary biscuits.
Internet access was an issue briefly as even with 5G and signal it wouldn’t connect, nor would the WiFi, but helpful staff quickly resolved the problem.
Good choices on the menu in restaurant and bar area. We ate in both and food was tasty.
There was also a great choice at breakfast.
All the staff at the hotel were lovely and very pleasant and helpful.
The city centre isn’t far and was a cheap taxi ride away, easier than finding parking.
Halifax Hall is within the grounds of Sheffield uni student accommodation but we stayed during the summer holidays and the area was quiet. I’m not sure if this would be the case during term times.
Overall, the hotel was excellent value for money and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
