We had a lovely stay here. Generally the area was quieter than usual due to the incidences in Paris the previous weekend but there was still a lovely atmosphere and I'm pleased we went. Everyone was very friendly and people should not be deterred from visiting.
We were six New Zealanders staying at this Hotel in Paris, the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the closeness to cafes and the Metro was excellent, the room size while small which was expected in Paris was very comfortable with excellent water pressure in the shower, fresh towels everyday.
We loved our stay here and would highly recommend it to other travellers.
It also had a lift which was a bonus with lots of bags after five weeks of travelling.

The hotel was close to the subway and had great places to eat nearby! The hop on, hop off stop was clase by as well. The staff was beyond friendly and helped with any questions or concerns! Breakfast was a little pricey but it was the best breakfast buffet that I experienced while backpacking through Europe. Omlets, fruit, sandwiches, pancakes, you name it. I was very impressed with this hotel. The people at the front desk all knew different languages so there was no language barrier at this hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times now and have found it to be one very good and very good value for money as well. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly, the hotel is in good order, clean and well kept and location wise it is a 2 minute walk from Bastille so right on a major junction for public transport. Prices are very good especially when you compare similar types of hotels around Paris and Citadines has spacious rooms that are insulated well enough that you do not hear everything from next door (like many of the other hotels or boutique ones).
It is not a luxury 5 star hotel but then never pretends to be and what is offered is very very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This was a nice hotel In a good neighbourhood. The room was quite small which is quite typical of hotels in Paris. Couldn't walk around the end of the bed if the bedroom window was open:) The shower had some mould in it but that too seems common since there aren't fans in the bathrooms. The only real drawback was that it was a good 1/2 hour walk to Notre Dame then to the other major sites. We like walking, this was not an issue. Lots of restaurants, boulangeries and eateries, laundromats, grocery stores and open food markets in this area. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Did not eat the breakfast at the hotel but it looked standard and good.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Le General. The hotel was modern, the staff we dealt with were friendly & helpful. The size of our room was good by Parisienne standards. It was clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is situated near Place de la Republique (nice neighbourhood). There is a selection of cafés, restaurants & other amenities in the area. It also close to the metros Republique & Oberkampf so it was very accessible. We'd stay here again.

Good hotel to stay, but expensive as the rooms are very small, small stairway, no lift. difficult to carry luggage all the way up floors. Shared toilet and baths. Hotel staff is friendly, cordial, supportive.
Rooms are well maintained and clean. Shared toilets and bathrooms.
Northeast of Place de la Bastille, this working-class neighbourhood is gradually becoming fashionable with younger Parisians. Trendy boutiques, cafés and bars are replacing the older shops and bistros, although some old-fashioned workshops survive. Left-wing sentiments are aired here annually on 14th July when France commemorates the Revolution. A few paving stones mark the site of the former Bastille prison.
