With its stunning stained-glass windows and high ceilings, the Basilica de Santa María del Mar is one of Barcelona’s finest examples of Catalan gothic architecture. Rising above the surrounding Ribera district are the church’s twin bell towers. Marvel at the intricate carvings of biblical figures. Inspect the large rose window in the center of the western façade.

The church nave is open to the public for free Monday through Sunday from morning until evening, with a midday break. A ticket for the guided tour includes entry to the crypt and choir.
