"Staff was so amazing and helpful. Rooms were small but clean. Bathroom was updated and had everything needed- body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast was very good offering full Scottish, waffles, or eggs and salmon. The restaurant on premises was also very good. The food was excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was the best i ever had. The only complaint is that the walls are thin."

"The Great Western Hotel is now returning to "great"in every way. Really enjoyed my recent stay. You will not find a better location than this centre piece of Oban bay. Good choice of food and drink served in a nice friendly atmosphere. The staff are also a real asset of this hotel and it is plain to see that the ownership and management are now determined to continuously improve and look after this great hotel. "We loved our stay! Right on the peninsula and right on the way for our road trip! Staff was friendly, but I couldn’t control the thermostat and it was 26 C when we walked in and the shower curtain was missing so everything got soaked. Other than that, truly lovely stay!"

"The staff were all excellent, helpful, kind and friendly. I would compare this hotel room with a travel lodge but with a restaurant and breakfast attached to it. I had a nicer room for less money in the same week. I guess prices have escalated. Well done staff! You made it worth while."

"Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay before our trip up Ben Nevis. Very easy to get to, plenty of parking and included in the price of your stay. Cafe/bar/restaurant was brilliant especially since we had a 13 hour drive up from the south and got there about half an hour before closing but they stayed open and we had a great meal with really good local beer. Rooms were very well stocked with tea coffee biscuits, shampoo conditioner and soap. Plugs both side of the bed, you can connect to the TV for youtube, shower pressure was good, temperature of the rooms was great. Rooms came with a fan and hairdryer which was a must for some of our guests. I think they said 24 hour manned reception not that we needed it. Great price great location, now I know this place exists I wont be staying anywhere else!!"

"My room was very clean. The staff was excellent. Unfortunately this time I did not have breakfast. The parking was excellent in the centre of oban ,For Oban it was a bonus free..parking."
