Wonderful resort, on the beach, with amazing staff

Posted 15-May-2017
Pros: The wonderful staff
Cons: Bathroom, maybe take out small bath tub and put in a walk in shower
Location: Nothing else to do near, or in St John's. Disappointing shopping there.
I was looking for somewhere that we would get a quiet tranquil vacation on the beach, and I found it here. The staff is amazing, especially Kaydean at reception and Primrose in the buffet restaurant. They are all happy, smiling and helpful. I loved the fact that it was all inclusive and adults only. The food was pretty standard, but well cooked and served with a beaming smile. There was no shortage of beach loungers or loungers around the pool. The beach was fantastic, as was the ocean. I don't know how to really express how we loved it there, but to say that we were very sad to leave, and will be back there again.

Pineapple Beach Club Antigua Review

Posted 15-May-2017
The resort was a little older with only 2 formal restaurants. That's the only downside. The people on this island, and specifically at PBC were the kindest and most sincere, friendly people we have ever met. The simplest request was handled efficiently and with urgency. Will definitely be going back in 2018!!

Paradise Found

Posted 14-May-2017
Pros: Beach, people and elderly friendly
Cons: Have an umbrella in the room for tropical storms. When you call ahead for special needs like ground floor- staff need to pay more attention to request
Location: Island tours, Shirley Heights- food, fun music and sunset, snorkeling and cruises.
We have been back to this place 3 times because it is such a nice place. The beach is really what sells it- turquoise blue water, calm and easy to get into (important for non swimmers and the elderly). It is a small place but that is a good thing if you are looking for a restful vacation. The food is good with a lot of variety, including a great barb b que place up on the hill with fabulous views. Alcoholic drinks tasty and plentiful- beers from the Caribbean. Staff mostly friendly. Many daily activities, water sports and ice cream!! Most of the customers are from England, USA and Canada and all very friendly. Night time entertainment excellent. I'm sure we will be back again!!

Nice hotel, steps away from the beach

Posted 11-May-2017
Pro's. Beach is beautiful, the food is good, especially at the Pineapple grille restaurant and the Outhouse, which is located on top of the hill overlooking the resort. Good nightly entertainment and grounds are beautifully maintained. Cons, I had a beachfront room, the rooms are small, dated and the mattress are uncomfortable, woke up every night itching not due to mosquitoes bites, but from ants and dust mites. There's a fee for Wi-Fi, and don't expect above and beyond treatment because you give tips.

Overall Good

Posted 07-May-2017
Chose a beach front room. Room was very close to the beach. Staff excellent. Food delish! Drinks strong & large variety. As a whole the resort geared more to the older crowd (55+) closed too early every night(12A). Only 3 restaurants to choose from. Only 1 gift shop that did not have a lot of items and closed by 6:45p. We met great people which lead to an excellent trip! But overall probably won't return due to older crowd.

Adults only hotel on the beach for couples

Posted 04-May-2017
Pros: Directly on the beach and adults only. Nice grounds. Decent food.
Cons: Smoking area should be established and placed where one doesn't have to smell drifting smoke. Disallow smoking on balconies.
Location: Nothing is close by. Excursion are offered at the tour desk. Beware they are not necessarily just for adults.
On arrival had to figure out how the check in worked. Apparently it was explained to the 4 couples that got there before me but I was ignored. They didn't have enough staff to help take the luggage to the room. The room looked exactly like in the picture.I booked the oceanside room which was directly on the water. Buffet food was decent (mostly European). Dinner menu starts over after 7 days. Didn't try the Italian restaurant or the grill. The best night was street fair night. If you don't want to pay $10 a day for wifi there is a slow hot spot that is free. Staff was mixed. Some excellent. Some not. Resort recommends to tip at the end of the stay but people might be off the day you leave and then you miss tipping the good employees. Majority off the people staying there were older British couples who all seemed to smoke. Smoking was allowed on the balconies and in designated areas. Location was very windy for most of the time I was there so the smoke traveled everywhere (except the dining room). Sprinkling of younger newly weds. Not really for single travelers. They have a tiny "library" which was nice when I ran out of books to read.

Garden-like beach setting

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Pros: Beautiful setting. Adults only. No pushy vacation club salespeople.
Cons: We changed rooms three times. 1st due to bee swarm & 2nd due to room location (long walk from the main resort) Got beachfront, but room it was beat on
Location: Snorkeling by Bird Island was better than on northwest side of island
Major kudos for this hotel's complete lack of vacation club sales! I'm so tired of being put in the position of having to say no to pushy sales people and was gearing up for it. Much to my surprise it never came up. On the whole this place is solid. Decent food, attentive staff, nice beach, and well groomed grounds. It does have some outdated standards for men's dinner attire. I get there should be a no swimsuit policy for everyone, but men must wear collared shirts to a buffet? Seems dated. We didn't get to eat at the one restaurant because my husband didn't have long pants. He doesn't wear long pants even in the winter, so bringing them on a beach vacation isn't happening. This place is built on the side of some major hills so walking is great exercise.

Beachfront resort

Posted 18-Apr-2017
We spent a quiet week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday 2017. The hotel staff is very accommodating and guests at the hotel are friendly if you make an overture. My group consisted of 2 grandmothers and we enjoyed sharing a table with a few different couples for a few of the meals. This is the first time that I've stayed at Pineapple Beach since they changed the policy and no longer allow children younger than 16. It was very easy to find lounge chairs either in the sun or shade. There is great snorkeling from the beach. The hotel supplies you with beach towels and water sports equipment.

Beautiful beach

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Good food.. Great staff ... Good value for your money .. Older resort that has been refreshed. Our room up on the hill was great and had a specticaluar view. Love the smoke house food and the drinks at the bar. Wish our fridge had at least some water in it . everything else was great
