Excellent location, need some repairs
The location is excellent. Right in the middle of several things that make a trip easier. The property though does need some repairs. Back sliding door doesn't lock. Front window was cracked. Doors that didn't close well. What looks like mold on the ceiling of the upstairs bathroom. Dishes that were dusty with disuse. Nothing major, but a lot of little things that just add up. All that said, a bit of work on the property would probably bring it up to five stars in short order.

I have inspected these issues. First, all doors lock except one that has a door stop in it which locks the sliding door to prevent it from being open when in place. Second, there is only a hair line crack in the upper glass pane of a front window that has been sealed. Third, there is no mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. It is only water spots from the shower. Forth, all doors shut properly.

Perfect place to stay on our mini getaway
My husband and I traveled from the St. Louis area for a little weekend getaway. We knew we wanted to enjoy some wineries and go on some hikes. This place was a perfect location, perfect size, very clean, and had great accommodations. Due to the location, we were able to accomplish going to all of the wineries and hiking spots we wanted to without feeling rushed. Then while at the house, the owner has truly thought of everything! We had the option of sitting back and relaxing in the hot tub or having fun playing all the games made available to us. We will be back in the future and we are already recommending this place to others.

Great Place
Twin Maples was easy to find and clean. Centrally located and quick access to just about anything. Listing as described. The house was rather warm when we first got there due to unpredictable weather. We messaged Kathy and she was there quickly to address the issue. Very receptive host. We would definitely stay again.

Nice place overall.
The house was clean and well stocked. Even though it was an older property there were some nice upgrades with the hot tub (we didn't use it because of the weather), new appliances, and fast wifi. There were only a couple complaints. The mattress in the master bedroom needs replaced. It sags pretty badly in the middle and it's fairly uncomfortable. The other being that the home is located on a busy road in town which can be noisy at times, a long with a train track nearby that is also loud. If you're used to this type of noise it probably wouldn't bother you. It did make things hard for the wife and I to sleep but we are used to things being pretty quiet. Neither of these were enough to knock a star off for us because we really enjoyed our couple nights away but thought future renters might want to know.

We had a great time in Anna and the surrounding areas. Kathy’s place was perfect. Very spacious and comfortable. The outdoor space with the hot tub was awesome! If you’re visiting wine country, I’d definitely recommend this place for a get-a-way. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Fabulous Girls Trip
It was a lovely property with everything we needed to cook in the kitchen.Sweet touches everywhere, robes for the hot tub, fantastic shower etc.The outdoor area was magical with the lights and the overall setup. Id recommend this property for anyone who wants to get away and decompress.

Family Reunion
This house is so adorable! Our host Kathy was an absolute pleasure to work with. Communication was quick and making the reservation was easy. It was a great location, just down the street from shopping. Kathy thought of everything, it was like being home, but away from home. Any pans, utensils, or glasses you need were all right at hand. There was even coffee! We will be renting it again next year when we return for our family reunion.

Great for a girls weekend getaway
The house was super cute and surprisingly big. The outdoor area was very private and where we spent 90% of our time. If you’re having a girls trip, this house is perfect! Great communication from owner. Great location - close to the wineries, Walmart, and restaurants.

Well maintained and cozy older home
Very clean and comfortable. Lots to entertain our 2 grandkids ages 9 and 11 after returning from a day out. Enjoyed the back sunroom and all the board games, the pool table and the hot tub. All the extras provided by the host like the quilts, the robes and all the helpful notes were great. Only thing I would mention that was in another review is would be helpful to have a pull out sofa or more sleeping options. Listing says sleeps 6 but only 2 bedrooms; one with a queen, the 2nd with a bunk bed, double on bottom and single on tope?? Beds were very comfortable though. Location was ok.

Elizabeth, thanks for you nice review. Just wanted to mention , there is a trundle bed under the double bed of the bunk bed, besides the top bunk bed. It does sleep 4 in the second bedroom. Hope you come again.🙂

Even better than expected!
We have an annual girls trip to the wine trail. Normally we try and find a secluded cabin near them to stay. This time we tried something different. We booked it for the back yard area. When we arrived the house was much bigger than we expected. The back indoor deck was a pleasant surprise! The kitchen was AMAZING, there were robes to welcome us, sound machines to help sleep. The owner of this property did not miss any details!!! The house was clean and set up for good times together. The only thing that I would even suggest would be adding in one more sleeping area such as a pull out couch or something of that sort. I am surely not the owner though. This house was perfect for spending the time together. We had a rain out night so we're greatful for it. There is not much to do in the town itself so we were happy to have the house itself!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Honeymoon in the woods

We enjoyed our stay and loved the coziness of this spot. It was so peaceful!
Our stay was perfect! We had everything g we needed as far as kitchen gear, bathrobes, etc. The cozy quilts were the icing on the cake, as it was December and a bit frigid in Southern Illinois. It is near all the local wineries and a hop skip and jump from Carbondale or Cape. The strip in Anna had cute, little shops and Sisisi’s who serves one of the best Chicago style pizzas I have ever eaten! This was a perfect getaway! We even had a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations! ❤️ Great customer care and prompt communication with host.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house & some of the furniture are dated but that's just part of the place's charm. I enjoyed the pool table, hot tub the most. It's located on a busy street with a Casey's & Kroger nearby if you need to grab a bag of ice or some groceries. Would definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I came to Anna to visit my dad. This property was everything we were looking for and more! The house was very clean and beds were quite comfortable! Downstairs there is a large game room, a living room, a nice kitchen and a sun room. I would have liked to enjoy the outside space more, but it was a rainy. We did get in the hot tub, it was nice, basic and clean. The host has lots of notes with labels, that worked well for us. The host was quick to reply to questions. We will likely be back!

Pros: The duplex is beautiful. A great place to socialize with so many indoor and outdoor seating options. It is fully stocked with everything you need. Hot tub was perfect and the robes were a great touch. Kikis coffee and davis pastry are a must stop attraction. Amazing! Cons: not much to complain about. There are 4 beds but no pictures to really understand the arrangement. One room has the queen bed and the other room has a twin top bunk and twin trundle that rolls out from under the bottom bunk. Also, single ply toilet paper is supplied so you may want to invest in your own.

The property was very clean and the accommodations exceeding our expectations. The first floor was spacious and offered a lot of activities. Our favorite spot was the backyard. We had dinner at the table and relaxed in the hot tub every night. The hosts were very helpful and provided a binder with all the information you would need. I would definitely stay here again!

This property was perfect for our mother-daughter get away! Owner was very responsive almost immediately answering questions through app. Old farmhouse charm with modern, clean interior. The back patio was where we spent our evenings chatting. Hot tub was very clean and perfect after a day of visiting wineries. Beds were very comfortable as well. We would definitely stay here again in the future!.

Property was okay at best. Definitely room for improvement. Floors were uneven, and I ended up stubbing my toe walking into the upstairs bathroom. Location was on a busy street so there was lots of road noise. Patio was nice, but could be more secure. All that being said, the kitchen was a “foodies” dream. Will most likely not visit again
