"Great location for walking to everything in Amsterdam’s city center! The lobby and public space are attractive and inviting. The rooms are small by US standards, but not unexpected in Europe. They were clean and bright and comfortable. The restaurant was good with a hot buffet each morning. The biggest annoyance was the bathroom light, which was motion activated. If you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night you’re blasted with bright light and since the bathroom door is frosted, it also wakes up your partner. But when you’re in the shower, the light keeps going out and you have to stick your arm out the shower door to get it back on. Also, no full length mirror in the room. A pet peeve, especially when you’re trying to dress for work meetings. It’s a low-cost fix that could make a big difference."

"The whole experience was lovely and relaxing. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. I wrote in my earlier review that I did not get my VIP bottle of wine. My error. When I look at my reservation, the perk was one free drink during my stay, which they gave me. Improvements would be: The refrigerator was not nearly cool enough, and it was installed in such a way that the outside vent throws off so much heat, it heats up the safe! I couldn't lock my medications in the safe because it was so warm. Add a mini bar, please. A hotel of this caliber should offer one. Late in evening, even the hotel bar doesn't have anything to snack on. Everything else was wonderful. I will definitely back."
