Lovely property in a lovely village - central to visit lots of interesting places.

The property was beautiful and the owner, David, was very welcoming.

Lovely old property with lots of character. Comfortable beds and nicely furnished. As a group of friends we enjoyed our stay. 20 min taxi or bus ride into York. Very few negatives. Bit of road noise as it's a busy road, a few hair dryers would have been nice, description said it was near a shop, but not the case.

Lovely place to stay. Was just the two of us. We would say 2nd bedroom is suitable for children rather than infants or adults, due to steep stairs, and layout of the room. Teenagers would love it I'd imagine. Only thing that let it down slightly was the small seating area outside. Just needs a little TLC. A quick sweep out would have helped. Other than that Masham and this property well worth visit, if maybe slightly over priced.

Superb property in Church Fenton. Perfectly situated for trips to York, Leeds and other places in Yorkshire. The property itself was high quality and thoughtfully appointed. Will definitely be back to stay, highly recommended.

Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for.

Nice stay

Excellent, lovely property Needs a guest book so that you can add your comments Fabulous cafe and village shop next door so breakfast is a must! Fabulous homemade produce Such fantastic hosts

Lovely house with great facilities- has everything we could have needed to enjoy our stay. Quiet area but easy access to North Yorks Moors and other local attractions.

Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future!

We rather liked Kemps Yard, which must be fairly new to the listing. Very convenient for Thirsk town, quietly hidden away from the main road, and clean and cosy. Parking in the yard is almost impossible, although the neighbour is an expert at manoeuvring his pickup down the lane! The visitor's permit lets you park on the road and saves you from endangering your vehicle, but you may get your step count up while you unload. We were ok with the cobbled lane, but it wouldn't be so good for those...

For someone who doesn't drive, this is a perfect spot, 10mins walk from train station, and local village, bus right outside property going to whitby and the moors. Accommodation itself perfect, everything you need and the hot tub was a bonus, very quiet area

The house was lovely, spacious, clean and well stocked with anything you might need. It is in a tranquil village and has plentiful off-road parking. The garden has an excellent view and is so peaceful to sit in. There is a park 2 minutes down the lane, a football field, and if you continue down the lane, there is a pond and a lovely walk around it. It was perfectly located between all the walking areas I wanted to see and complete. When we arrived there was bread, milk and some treats waiting...
