"Parking was free and very accessible for the hotel reception. We arrived a little early and decided to have a light lunch in the bar where we Adam the bar manager who was most welcoming and we enjoyed a local brew over lunch. Our room was very comfortable with lovely views over the river. We dined at the hotel and received excellent service from Eilidh and her team. The fish and shellfish on the menu was beautifully prepared and presented by the chef although the supporting wine list was somewhat limited and unspectacular Breakfast service was adequate with a rather plain buffet choice, but the cooked breakfast was again well cooked and presented, a credit to the chef. The hotel is set in a world heritage site and run by a charitable trust, so we were pleased to support a local business which clearly employs a cheerful and well trained staff."

"Great location with plenty of free parking. The room was quite small but we were only there for one night and had very little luggage. Good restaurant. Service was excellent. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful."

"I turned up quite late in the day and was welcomed to this lovely B&B. Beautiful views around the property and the rooms and breakfast area have been decorated to a very high standard. But the best bits are the bed/bedding and the breakfast. I stay in 80/90 hotels a year a this is the most comfy by a mile. I overslept but they still put breakfast on for me later than planned. I will be visiting again. Lovely host and staff beautiful setting."

"Staff helpful and friendly and room clean and nice bedding etc , unfortunately the mattress was very poor and the springs were uncomfortable all night . I discussed this in the morning and hopefully it will be addressed"

"Stayed one night when attending a wedding in the castle. Can only recommend on my visit. Looked after by Cathy from arrival until breakfast next morning. Had dinner at Crown hotel a few mins from hotel and 10% discount on food was applied for hotel guests. Mind flash the key fob to let them know before the bill is on table. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast was served and tea/ coffee top ups were no trouble if asked for. Recommend the Kirkstyle if staying in the area."
