"Excellent accommodation for us and our dog, in the ‘cottage’ attached to the main house. Welcoming and friendly hosts, super breakfasts. Location is beautiful, the large pleasant garden is right on the bank of the River Wensum. Good location for touring the North Norfolk coast. "

Slutshole Lane, Spooner Row Funnily enough, there was no street sign on this lane (probably stolen!) - although there may be one at the other end. It's cut by the railway now, and I didn't fancy the round trip to check! I can't find any information online as to where this name may derive from, but a Geograph reader emailed me (thank you!) to say: "The name seems to come from sluice or sluits, a derivative of the Dutch for sluice (sluis). Slutch has also been mentioned which means a build up of gritty sludge... as you can see none of which anything remotely rude... I can confirm both road signs were stolen many years ago!" Addition: I've been informed that this road name is number one in this book: http://tinyurl.com/ynmwhe.
