Many of the historical and religious sites are concentrated within the Old City walls, including the Tower of David, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wall and Temple Mount. Beyond the Old City, you should also make time to visit the Israel Museum, the spectacular lookout points of the Haas Promenade, and the sombre and moving Yad Vashem – Israel’s Holocaust memorial and museum that stands in the memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis in Europe.
Jerusalem city centre is the place to head for shopping and nightlife, with high-end boutiques and stores as well as fine-dining restaurants.
