"What a pleasure! Love coming across a diamond in the rough! Friendly and helpful staff, warm and cosy bar/restaurant area, room was amazing, plenty of beverages to keep you busy and a menu that leaves most other hotels for dust (steak and Stilton oggy I believe it was called is really good). And then when you think it can’t get better you wake up and have the best breakfast I’ve had in a hotel in years!"

"A very welcoming village pub. Food was great and the room we had (family room) was clean, fresh laundry and spacious. Great value as well. Breakfast was perfect portion size and a tasty start to our day. We would definitely go back. "

"Stayed for one night in the most beautiful of rooms. The mattress and pillows were perfect. Food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. I only have one bugbear, I couldn’t sleep because of the vibrating, droning sound which I think was coming from below my room, that stopped finally around 2am. But that being said I still can’t wait to return. "

"Staff was helpful and the room was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were fine. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the hotel, but there was an absolute terrible stench outside when we arrived, it could actually still be smelled in the room. It eventually died down but never went away"

"Our room was lovely, very spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well stocked. It was very quiet at night too, no banging doors, although not sure if it was because the hotel itself was quiet. The only negative was that the room was incredibly hot at night. We had to have the windows open quite wide overnight. "

"Lovely, greeted with a smile and checked straight in, the room was nice clean and comfortable, breakfast is basic but I didn’t mind as I only have small breakfasts, my only advice to travellers would be check if the kitchen is open for evening meals during your stay, it wasn’t on my 1st night however there was a great pub just up the road. I will definitely stay here again, I didn’t get the ladies name behind the bar, but a big shout to her she was great."
