Brilliant from the start, we were allowed to use the swimming pool free of charge, only bad thing is, is that you have to buy your own hats for €3, if like me, you forget them, but the room was lovely, the bads were the most comfortable bedstay I've ever slept in, the staff were lovely too.
We chose this hotel as we wanted somewhere near Galway City but not in it. The Clybaun is ideal as it's very close to Salthill and Spiddle etc. We enjoyed our stay and will go again. We will recommend it to our friends.
Thanks to Expedia we had an upgrade to a very large room with fireplace and all. Large bathroom with bath tub. As we had a 2 day stay and it was raining we enjoyed the comfort. Food in the bar was great and good value.

In October, the Galway Theatre Festival takes place with plenty to showcase the city’s vibrant arts scene in the best possible light. Even if you can’t catch one of the festivals, there’s lots of other opportunities to see some of Ireland’s finest performers. Galway has five major theatres, and the staff at your four star hotel will be only too happy to help you decide which play to see first.
Galway has lots of well-preserved relics of ancient Ireland within easy reach and you should be able to get some great advice from hotel staff about which of the county’s dolmens and Neolithic standing stones to visit. For those interested in more recent history, Galway is the location for several castles dating back to the Norman invaders.
Galwegians are proud of their food and the city has some of the best restaurants in Ireland.
