"This hotel was beautiful. The staff at the front desk was very helpful with checking in and out, she was very pleasant. The staff at the restaurant was very abrupt at night. The breakfast staff was super friendly, and pleasant the meal choices were great, the buffet had a little of everything from cereal, pancakes eggs, yogurt and toppings, and service was prompt. Getting a taxi to train station was quick, and the train is 5 minutes away by taxi. I highly recommend this hotel, and look forward to staying here again."

"Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and cleaned each day. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The bar was modern and staff were pleasant, the food was excellent. We stayed in August and thought as the hotel was busy there would be some nightly entertainment but there wasn't. The pool and it's facilities I couldn't fault. We will definitely return."

Cottage on Lough Ree / River Shannon in the heart of Ireland

10/10 Excellent
"Barley Harbour Lodge "Trout" was a wonderful place to stay. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, and it was very peaceful and quiet. Eva was a thoughful host and gave us a half dozen fresh eggs from her chickens. I enjoyed sitting outside with my morning coffee (on the days it didn't rain) and listening to the birds, and the cows made fun neighbors. It is also a good base for exploring the area, as it is centrally located. There are many fascinating sights nearby, including the mysterious Corlea Bog trackway and Rathcroghan archaeological site. We really enjoyed our week-long stay!"
