"Hotel was spotless, owners extremely helpful and friendly. King size comfortable bed. Room was beautifully decorated with lots of little extras. Even left us an Easter Egg each in the room. Breakfast had lots of variety and was piping hot. Nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend it and will return to this little gem of a place"

"Going on holiday but feeling at home. Greeted with such a warm welcome from lisa lots of smiles. The room was so beautiul, massive bed and super comfortable. The room was very clean and well presented. Bathroom had big shower and again very well presented with complimentary body wash and shampoo. Breakfast was very nice, service quick and friendly. Maybe an option of veggie breakfast would be only minor thing to add but was very well looked after with options. "

"Our favourite place to stay on Dartmoor. The staff are fantastic. They go out of their way to accommodate every request. Rooms are always spotless and modern furnishings. Situated in the Dartmoor National Park it is the best location for exploring the outdoors. The food is delicious and homemade. Truly wonderful place to stay."

"My wife and I had an excellent and comfortable stay! We were greeted at the door and taken care of as we were shown to our room. Upon arrival they gave us an upgrade to a sea view which was very kind! Everything was brilliant, only slight issue was the lack of wifi & reception in our room (reception problem with the area, not the hotel itself). We didn’t end up trying any food though, but looked delicious. Thank you Orestone for accommodating us! "

"We spent a very relaxing w/e at Southernhay House. The rooms are luxurious, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff are welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Bar and restaurant are both beautifully designed with many references to the building's historic past. The food was excellent also. "

"Strange checkin process, reception is at the Hub not in the Hotel, I may have missed communication on this but a lot of walking about just to check in Car chargers need bettering, current type have no instructions and no staff (5 of them) knew how they worked or more importantly released the cable!"

"Myself and my partner stayed for 2 nights, on the first night with were arriving at 8.10pm just after the kitchen normally closes. We rang up and nothing was too much trouble, we preordered over the phone and they held off on preparing our meal until we arrived. Food was amazing and we had a lovely few drinks in the pub which has such a warm atmosphere. Our room was lovely, we particularly enjoyed the log burner, and was a great size. A great stay, we would definitely come again! "

"Booked The Cromwell Arms for a 3 night stay with my husband. I came down to Devon to visit my Dad who lives quite near so this place was ideal for us. On arrival this is a very quaint looking establishment and quite a few places at the rear for Free parking too. We booked in and shown to our room. We were both pleasantly surprised.
