"We booked here for it's easy drive to Dumfries House. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant and bar are nice informal and relaxing areas. Our weather was poor, so we couldn't take advantage of the great looking garden area. The room was small but adequate with a nicely refurbished ensuite. Pretty much as we expected for a 3 star small hotel /inn really."

"We were just there for one night for a short break. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The staff were lovely very helpful. We had really good weather which does make a difference and we sat outside for a while on the bar patio. "

"Apartment was comfortable. The alet and stairs up to it were awful and could have been improved with a clean or a paint. Beds were comfortable. Just needed some general upkeep done on it, skirtings cleaned and painted, hole in bathroom wall filled. Everything you needed for a weekend away but not done to my standard."

"The hosts bent over backwards to personalise our stay, whilst respecting our privacy. From the homemade tablet, pancakes and artwork to the birthday balloons and beers, we had a lovely break. The cabin has everything you need, and the hot tub is fantastic to soak in under the stars. We just wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area more. The only thing we were woken up early with a lot of noise of other rooms being cleaned and after being at a family wedding the night before we were hoping for a little more rest the following morning. But apart from that it was a good stay."
