Fantastic location room and staff

Room was immaculate and refurbished recently by the looks of it. Good breakfast choices in the cafe downstairs and the staff are very helpful. Only thing was that the B&B had no notification from Expedia that the stay had been prepaid and so they went to take payment from me. I was able to show them an email from Expedia to show it was paid. They took a photo of it and that was that. Not their fault.

We had a very pleasant surprise with the property,doesn’t look great from the outside but superb rooms, a very nice kitchen available to use and the rooms were fantastic.The staff/owners were very friendly and helpful, we will Definitely be back.

A characterful village inn hotel, recently refurbished by the owners. Very friendly, relaxed welcome and service from Kayleigh & Marcus and all their staff. Room had a lovely view through the village and towards the hillside. Well appointed and very tastefully decorated ensuite room too. The bar itself is busy with a good selection and found everyone to be very friendly both in the bar and in general around the village, no-one passes you without saying "good morning". In short, very enjoyable...

Everything in Shaftoes have been done to a very high standard. Dave could not have done more to make our stay better. Recommends eating places, booked a table and sorted out a menu for us that suited our taste. Verry good knowledge of local places to visit.

Lovely room - nice and clean and bed very comfy. Good in the pub downstairs was absolutely fabulous - huge portions and very tasty. Highly recommend 👍

In the heart of northuberland dark skies area stars every where accomodation fantastic Helen and the staff superb. Very nice breakfasts would book again Ann and George

Room was clean and tidy on arrival Staff went above and beyond very helpful nothing was to much Breakfast was amazing lots of choice whatever your taste and all the food that came out looked good liked the fact juice and pasties where available as well as tea/ coffee and toast. We took our dog and again the staff order water and happily gave him a sausage for his breakfast. A lovely hotel in centre of Britain definitely worth a stop over

Stayed here a number of times. It's perfect for a quiet retreat with no distractions such as TV or phones. Owner tim is always on hand polite and helpful. Highly recommend the place.

Stayed during owners transition, that's why the kitchen served only breakfast and it was amazing! The same helpful staff. Short business stay, I visit a lot of hotels and I do appreciate smaller ones. Room had a nice design, comfortable bed and modern bathroom, all very clean and well kept.

Excellent staff very kind and hospitable and very nice pub food and breakfast. LargeTV screen to watch the World Cup and BBC I player to catch up on the highlights, all good.

Brilliant for over night stay , the food was very good , just what you need after a long journey , very relaxing .

Ideally located for Hadrian's Wall walkers and next to Milecastle Inn, we enjoyed one night's stay here. Very comfortable and we would probably choose to stay here for several nights if walking the national trail again.

Generally we liked everything, though lots of items, the bathroom for example was what we would call 'tatty' doubtless because you have been closed due to Covid for lengthy periods this year and last. Thus repainting has not been able to be done. Sleeping was good, not least because Elizabeth was able to have sheets and blankets rather than a duvet.....exactly as we requested in fact. Good. Great stay excellent host very helpful. Lovely breakfast and great location right on the Hadrian’s wall trail 5 minutes walk away. Peaceful quiet location on a working farm.
