"What a fantastic stay! We used the Inn for a stop over travelling from Edinburgh to Kent and so glad we did. The staff were amazing and the room had everything we needed with plenty of room (Family Room). We had booked a table for an evening meal and the food was excellent with no complaints. Breakfast was included with our stay and this was also very good. I can’t say this enough, the staff were brilliant and made our family feel welcome from start to end. We would definitely book if heading up this way in the future."

"Chose this pub as an overnight stay enroute to Scotland. We booked a table online for dinner as well. The room was excellent. Evening meal was superb as was the breakfast the following morning. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Parking available close to the room. Would definitely stay again and would recommend."

"The location was great, facing towards the city centre while the river is out the back. Breakfasts were delicious with various selections as were the dinners. We went to their cozy bar every evening before dinner. Mostly, I enjoyed the old world atmosphere, especially the lovely sitting room. The staff was very professional yet very friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and sizable. Loved the place!"

"On line book in. Which worked. A breakfast hamper continental style which worked well. Room had everything needed for a two day stay. Its a downhill slope walk of 14 minutes from Railway station and a bit longer going back. Local buses close. Plenty of local cafes and fish and chip shops handy. Location very good for walking the town walls. The absence of staff seen did not distract from what was a pleasent stay.I would use the hotel again if visiting the area."
