This was our second stay at the Forest and Vale. Our first since 'lockdown' and we were delighted that the hotel was as good as before. Unfortunately, we could only get a standard double room in the 'cottage annexe' No view but this was perfectly comfortable and adequate for our 4-night stay. Breakfasts were delightful, Cooked to order with plenty of choice. Good dinner menu too. The biggest plus point for this hotel though is the staff. We have just had a great 2 night stay here. The family room was huge, very clean and comfortable (the photos dont do it justice). Breakfast was perfect and we also had evening meals each night which were big portions. We found it a very friendly environment and enjoyed relaxing in the bar and playing pool. Great base for Whitby, Flamingo Land and Filey. We would definitely return.

Gorgeous looking hotel. Already lovely but excited to see it when their plans to gain a 4th star come to fruition. My only qualms are rather thin walls to the next bathroom (you can hear the next rooms shower power unit) and the ventilation (weather was low 20s but room got full sun and with no air con it was very hot, even with windows fully open). Otherwise, tasteful decor, a really nice restaurant with super food and a beautiful location.

I chose this hotel as I fancied a change from the B&B's I usually stop in when in the area. What a great choice that was the Staff were really nice and very helpful, the room was very clean and well furnished the food in the Bar area was really good. Wifi was fast as I had work to do. The TV had movies available to watch as this was a smart TV. Well Done Mayfield. Excellent place and I would stop again without any question.

Booked as a getaway to celebrate my wife's Birthday. Arrived late but the Landlady was there to greet us (having called previously to check what time we were expecting to arrive). We'd been upgraded into a large and very comfortable room, containing a super queen bed (we'd given no pre-warning of the reasons for our weekend away). We had a really pleasant stay with a good choice of offerings for breakfast, all of which were well cooked and presented.

Stayed here several times. The hotel is excellent, the staff are amazing, the food is so gorgeous - just too much of it ! The rooms (and we have several different ones) are warm, inviting and immaculate. All have TVs and tea making facilites with an ample choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, all are en-suite and the bathrooms are spotless along with a good supply of towels and comp toiletries. Plenty of car parking space The only downside to this place is time passes too quickly...

We ad a superb stay the hotel was very good all staff was very friendly the food was excellent we will definetley be goin back .
