A great find

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: The proximity to the bus station as we were able to walk to it on arrival, its cleanliness and high standard of rooms,
Cons: Nothing
Location: Set back from the Grand Canal, but within walking distance of the bus station. Several good restaurants nearby.
We've just returned from a fantastic weekend in Venice. We are so glad we found this small hotel on the Expedia website. It is ideally situated for a short walk from the bus station on arrival in Venice, and for your return at the end of your stay. The staff are extremely friendly and knowlegeable of the area, offering advice on local restaurants, and places not to miss. The hotel is very modern with a venetian twist, and cannot be faulted for its cleanliness. The air conditioning was a great bonus for the heat of the night. There is a safe in the room (free). The buffet style breakfast was excellent, with all the elements of a continental breakfast, plus much more. The waitress could not do more to help. If or when we return to Venice we shall definitely use this hotel again, and have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers.

Awesome Hotel with Friendly and Helpful Staff

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff at the hotel is exceptional.
Cons: WiFi is only accessible from certain parts of the hotel which was a minor inconvenience. Overall everything was great.
This hotel is located in a convenient location about a 3 minute walk from a water bus stop and fairly close to the entrance of the city. When we arrived we made the mistake of walking to the hotel. Carrying our luggage across the two bridges was not fun. My recommendation is to purchase an all you can use water bus ticket for the duration of your trip and then taking the water bus to the nearest stop to the hotel. Once we arrived at the hotel we found it to be a very nice updated hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My favorite part was the included breakfast which exceeded my expectations. Overall a great hotel.

You don't need anything else in Venice

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: Colour.
Cons: Not a lot.
Location: Rialto bridge is 20 minutes walk in one direction. The train station is 15 minutes in the other direction. A vaporetto stop is 2 minutes away.
Imagine your ideal Venice hotel. Quiet location yet still within an easy walk of the main sights. Funky colourful decor staying just the right side of garish. Not too expensive. Clean, well-equipped rooms. Friendly competent staff. Just enough but not too much. If it hasn't got it, you don't need it. If you want a fancy canal-side restaurant, hot and cold running maids and a water-taxi to San Marco then look elsewhere (and be prepared to dig deep into your credit card account). For everything and everyone else, the answer is Domina Home Ca Zusto.

Contemporary, comfortable, clean, hidden gem

Posted 12-Jul-2014
We stayed 4 nights - July 2014 - for a silver wedding get-away. A 30 second walk away from The Grand Canal without the hassle and the hustle of the crowds we'd recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is very near some lovely trattorias, pizzeria and restaurants (and a supermarket) and within only a few minutes of two waterbus stops - San Stae (for the airport - 40 mins on Alilaguna) and Riva de Biasio. With contemporary interior design it is comfortable and has free wifi on the 1st floor. Breakfast is fine with continental and cooked options, fruit, pastries, lovely fresh bread every day, yoghurts, cereals etc. Our room was well appointed with queen size bed, sofa, chairs, table, digital TV, easy-to-use safe, mini-bar-fridge, air-conditioning and a lovely 6ft wide (spotless) shower. The room was spotless too - as was the the whole hotel (compliments to the hotel staff). As it was so lovely, we were surprised the hotel wasn't busier (which may have helped us get our upgrade) - no packed breakfast room, which was pleasant too. No noise was heard either throughout out our stay. On the downside - there was no bar and there was no tea/coffee-making facility in the room. I would have expected these in a four star hotel but all in all these are very minor points in a lovely hotel with lovely, polite staff. RECOMMENDED

Lovely refurbished 14th century hotel!

Posted 26-Jun-2014
We loved it: Extremely friendly and helpful staff, room was spacious and colorful, breakfasts were delicious, great location - quick walk from Riva de Biasio vaporetto stop. The only problem was that our bed were too hard. Great Wi-Fi access and a/c.

Boutique hotel in quiet location

Posted 24-May-2014
Pros: As above
Cons: Just a list of hotel information in the room
Location: Close to all major attractions
This hotel is a nice little surprise. It is only one stop on the vaporretto from the train station so it is great if you have luggage. It is convenient to all the major sights but the location is in a nice quiet area. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and the breakfast area is a colorful surprise.

Nice hotel, away from the busy tourist areas

Posted 18-May-2014
Pros: The staff, location, amenities
Cons: The bed frame and mattress could be updated.
Location: Get the 12 or 24 hr water taxi ticket. The key to walking is to look for the signs for San Marco or Piazzale Roma to go in the right direction.
The hotel is a little off the beaten trail but once we found it (which was a lot harder than expected) we were very happy and a bit surprised with how modern the hotel was and how friendly the staff were. The hotel is nicely renovated and modern and even included a bathtub - which our hotel in Rome did not. The windows were new and did a great job of keeping the noise out and our room very quiet. Our only complaint would be with the bed, which was quite hard and a bit squeaky on the sides, but once we got in everything was fine and we had a great sleep. The only way to find the hotel for your first time is to take the water taxi to Riva di Biasio, turn left and walk to the end of the street, then turn right (the only option) and the hotel is just after the first street on your right.

Clean well kept hotel with very helpful staff.

Posted 22-Apr-2014
Pros: Expedia online search
Cons: The bed is a bit firm for my liking. The pillows are bit flat. But that may just be my preference.
Location: Top 2 restaurants I experienced: Osteria Trefanti (gastronomical delight), Paradiso Perdito (like being at an Italian wedding)
The staff helped recommend wonderful authentic local restaurants and were very patient in providing detailed directions (absolutely critical in a maze like Venice!)
