“fair accomidations”
The hotel is located a short walk from the Ca' Rezzonicco vaperetto stop. nice hotel but no elevator so if you have big pieces of luggage get ready for some exercise. Breakfast is ok, rolls, sweet rolls, coffee maker juice, hams and cheese. overall the hotel was good it was a 20-25 minute walk from St.Marks Square and a 5 minute walk to Ponte Accademia, (accademia bridge). Be ready to get lost we did and as frustrating as it was we laughed about it later. Enjoy, if you wald to Academia bridge there is a small bar on the right side before you cross with a nice view of water and great for people watching.
“a very good hotel for Venice”
For a 3* hotel, it's really good. The location has a quiet, beautiful village atmosphere which is really close to the best parts of Venice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The 14th century staircase is a wonderful feature but quite a challenge for the more creaky. The staff will carry the luggage to the room. we had a very spacious 'superior' room. Very highly recommended.
“Great location in Venice”
This hotel is full of charm and character. Away from the crowds but in an area full of atmosphere. Friendly staff. Breakfast basic but adequate. Free trip included to Burano really was free...and in a water taxi! Rooms kept clean - change of towels daily. When I return to venice, I will stay here again.
“Nice place to stay”
The staff there was great nobody ever blew us off at all. The room was very nice . My family would go back there again. It was close to great places to eat... I really felt like you were at home. Thanks
“Charming”
Overall the hotel was very nice. The room was clean, comfortable and convenient. Breakfast was provided, coldcut meats, pastry, fruit and beverages. The negatives were no screens on the windows and the air-conditioning was not up to American standards so mosquitos were a problem. The furniture was worn and a bit tired looking. The staff was very helpful, english was not a problem. Location was OK. Venice isn't that big. You can walk anywhere and the waterbus system is well run and easy once you've put a little effort into figuring it out. Air conditioning everywhere was less then we were use to. I would not stay there or visit Italy during the hot summer months. But it you can travel during Spring or Fall I recommend the hotel.
“not impressed”
we stayed here 19 years ago - it has not changed! The lady receptionist on duty in the mornings was particularly unimpressive and unwilling to help in any way. I don't think she knows how to smile. We will definately not stay there again. The room was old fashioned, and not in a good way, the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible. The dining room was dingy with an unkempt garden for a view.
“Convenient hotel in Desaduro district.”
Hotel is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood near Academia, Peggy Guggenheim and a short walk to San Marco and San Margarehetta Compo. There is no elevator, which may be a problem for visitors with excess luggage.
“Will definitely stay again”
This hotel is in a very peaceful and pretty part of Venice and the staff are extremely helpful, with suggestions of good places to eat and how to get about. Situated about five minutes from vaporetto stop and no bridges to cross. We had a quite compact room but it was beautifully maintained with clean towels every day. Good choice of continental breakfast with cereals, rolls ham, cheese, jams etc, yogurt and a brilliant coffee machine. A real find and we will certainly stay again especially as there is an excellent ice cream shop in the nearby Campo St Barnaba.
“Sweet and quiet”
I have just returned from a six night stay in Venice (April 2011). I had never been before and put a lot of thought into my hotel choice. This neighborhood is lovely, Rick Steves said it was quiet and he was right but not too quiet, there were still people out in the evenings. I ran into some people who were staying by St.Marks and they commented it was a bit loud. Also I found it to be very convenient to attractions just head for the accademia bridge. Bring comfortable shoes I walked all day long! The people at this hotel are very nice and there is someone there at night. I had some very nice conversations and a nice drink (spritz and wine). They were very helpful with my questions regarding my plans. I was traveling alone and never once felt unsafe or nervous. They have a computer for quests in the lobby but you can also sign up per day for wifi via "Venice connected" . The wifi areas are near the canal or squares. This hotel did have a nice breakfast in the morning rolls, croissants, jams, a few choices of meats, yogurt, granola, i had a lovely pear, juice and coffee. This was the best priced hotel in the neighborhood I wanted and it worked out wonderfully for me. Thank you very much Hotel Pausania.
“Our Venice Wedding Staying at Hotel Pausania”
When we arrived, there was a problem with the plumbing in our room, but Martina quickly sorted us with a temporary room until the problem was solved. The room we got a few hours later was stunning - high ceilings, frescoes and a murano glass chandilier! Martina, in particular, was a treasure! She helped me find a hairdresser at short notice, sorted a water taxi and even a complimentary bottle of prosecco the night before our wedding! The location of the hotel is great - away from the madding crowds of San Marco, and in a lovely neighbourhood with a wonderful square close by serving great food at reasonable prices. We're planning to go back and stay at Hotel Pausania for our first wedding anniversary! Louise and Graham
