Close to Historic Center

Posted 18-Mar-2014
Pros: Close to main square, very quiet.
Cons: The hotel is 20 years old and so is the interior.
We checked in this hotel based on earlier reviews. It matched what we expected. The hotel is located very close to the main square and offers free parking, wifi and breakfast. We weren´t ask when we arrived for breakfast what was included, but this tiny homemade buffet was very inviting and delicious, so we paid an extra 50 pesos per person and enjoyed it a lot. The rooms are quite big and somehow interesting with 3 levels. We had a jacuzzi in the room and our kids enjoyed it.

Very romantic Hotel and staff is very friendly

Posted 06-Jan-2014
Pros: Hotel presentation and room rate well worth it.
Cons: Room service 24 hours a day would of been awesome
Location: Walking distance in under 10 minutes to all the shopping, museums, bars, restaurants, historic locations, and entertainment.
Hotel staff is very professional and young "family ran and operated" all the rooms are small suite with a view to the court yard / rooms are well decorated and keeled up for a old Hacienda hotel.

Adequate hotel close to the historical center

Posted 19-Aug-2013
Pros: The price was reasonable and the convenient location made it a good choice.
Cons: Furniture needs to be upgraded, and some guests conveniences like towel bars and hooks should be added. Security lock boxes are a "must."
Location: Old town Queretaro is only three blocks away. There are walking streets with shops and restaurants, and the town's plazas are right there too.
The hotel is conveniently located just three blocks away from the pedestrian walk streets of old town Queretaro. After entering the rather plain and deceptive front door, my traveling companion and I were surprised to find a lovely upper level breakfast patio overlooking a spacious and inviting courtyard below. We arrived early at noon and had to wait until 3pm to get our room----which would be okay, but the office had no secure place to keep our luggage in the small lobby while we went out for a walk. The front desk clerk did keep an eye on it, however. To get to our room, we had to descend a stairway to the lower courtyard. Then we were surprised to find that our room was actually a 3-level mini suite with a lower sitting room, a 2nd floor sofa sleeper, and the bedroom and bath on the top level. The stairway was pretty narrow and it was hard to get the suitcases up to the top. The bed was an oversize king and was very nicely made up. A small balcony gave us a view of the courtyard. The other furniture and accessories of the room seemed somewhat shabby: stained chair seats, frayed curtains, and a roll-up curtain with a broken cord so it didn't work. The bathroom was very clean, but it needed shelf space for our personal items and hooks for hanging towels. The room had a newer TV and an air conditioner. There was no security lock box, so we locked our suitcases. A real plus was the free and very easy to connect WiFi. Two small bottles of water each day were not enough.

Great city, horrible hotel

Posted 17-Aug-2013
Pros: The patio is lovely.
Cons: Needs: new paint, furniture, curtains, etc. new staff (not friendly) new cleaning crew (maid left previous dirty towels and sheets in the room)
Location: walking distance from downtown Queretaro
After reading all the negative reviews, we took a chance and stayed at this hotel. We should have listen! The hotel is old. Unclean. Neglected. It needs tender loving care. I personally got a "bad vibe" from hotel, but my husband didn't. In general, the hotel's cost is not worth the stay. Do not stay here!

Nice Colonial Style Hotel near Queretaro Center

Posted 27-Jun-2013
Pros: Very friendly Staff, good continental breakfast in the morning, easy parking, clean room, ability to open windows and get cool evening air in the room
Location: Location is great, you can walk around all of downtown Queretaro! Easy drive to nearby towns
We were visiting Queretaro for a friend's wedding and just a little vacation. The hotel staff was very warm and helpful. The location was right in the heart of downtown Queretaro so it was very easy to walk from here to anywhere we wanted to go. Hotel was also very secure. I would definitely stay here again next time we go to Queretaro!

Business trip in a colonial hotel.

Posted 08-Dec-2012 on Hotels.com
This was a business trip and I decided to stay away from business hotels. Best decision I have made regarding hotel accommodations. It is just different, colonial and inviting at the same time. No every city have what QRO has to offer, I will stay here again in my next visit. Near the center of downtown and close to more than twenty different restaurants.

A wonderful Mexican experience

Posted 13-Oct-2012 on Hotels.com
We loved the ambiance/flavor of the hotel. It felt like a real Mexican hotel, which is exactly what we wanted on this trip. The room was very clean as well. It was a short five block walk to the Old Centre and they had off street parking. The continental breakfast was ok....but additional items could be purchased. The staff was very helpful when we decided to order in a pizza on one of the nights. All in all - the price was right, and the room met our expectations.

Nice older Hotel

Posted 10-Aug-2012
Pros: Room was very comfortable & clean not to mention quiet.
Cons: Recent choice of colors on interior courtyard.
Location: Great Location. Close but not on top of the main traffic of cars & people.
Within walking distance of the centro Historic district. Very quiet clean rooms. It is not a hotel for people that have difficulty with stairs as our room had three floors. Free parking which is very important as parking can be difficult in most older sections of colonial cities in Mexico. Some staff did speak English & all were very helpful & friendly. Beds were very comfortable & AC in main bedroom.
