We had a junior suite and the room had a balcony and great view of the hill with the observation tower and Castillo Serrallés. The hotel is across the street from the Plaza Degetau, which is where the cathedral and Parque de Bombas are located. A quick, 10 minute drive gets you to La Guancha, the boardwalk at the port, and Ponce's museums and other cultural attractions are easy to get to, too.
Our room was large, with two queen-sized beds and a small refrigerator. The bathroom was surprisingly small, but nicely appointed. The shower water temperature was inconsistent, running hot then cold then hot again, but that's my only complaint. The hotel has a parking deck and parking is an extra charge; wi-fi is also not part of the room rate.
Ponce Plaza Hotel was not my first choice, which did not have any availability. Frankly, I'm glad we stayed here instead. There's a coffee shop in the lobby and we had an excellent dinner in the Lola restaurant. We didn't visit the casino, but it's there for those with that interest.

Easy to find off the highway. left my I Pad on the roof of my car and when I called back later in the day, the receptionist went in her car as far as the nearby highway to look for it, but no luck. Liked the adobe look and the gathering of the room around the pool. Breakfast was good too. The best place we stayed at in our one week visit to the island. And reasonable too

An old hotel that has comfortable rooms with high ceilings. Ours had a balcony at the front of the hotel with large shutters and a pleasing breeze. However the street is noisy. The bar across the street was closed the first night, but the second night was very loud until after 2am.
Puerto Rico’s second largest city and busiest shipping port, Ponce’s center dates from the late 17th century. Steeped in neoclassical architecture, the city is also known as the “pearl of the south.” The Ponce Museum of Art houses the most extensive art collection in the Caribbean. An ancient nearby cemetery is perhaps the most important archaeological site in the West Indies.
