"Domus Mariae Albergó is a gem overlooking the sea in Ortigia. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the sea and the sounds and salt breeze were delightful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was at sister inn across the street Staff were very helpful. Location was close to sea wall but not far - a few minutes walk- from restaurants and shopping. "

"We stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved this gem of a hotel. Francisco in Reception was very knowledgeable and helpful, arranging our off-site parking and telling us about Ortigia. The breakfasts were great and the location of the hotel is wonderfully convenient. The breakfast terrace overlooks the bay and the quiet murmur of people strolling up and down the street is nice to hear, as it has a cheerful vibe. Very highly recommended."

"This hotel is exceptional in every way. It is absolutely gorgeous- inside & out. The location is ideal- right on the water and close to everything, as well as very safe. The ceilings, the canopy bed, the tiles in the bathroom, the flooring, the stairwell- everything was beautiful and it is the absolute cleanest room I have ever stayed in. The breakfast was great, with fill-your-own cannoli, pastries, yogurt and more. I hope I can return to beautiful Siracusa and I will definitely be staying here."

"The good: The staff is EXTREMELY helpful! They communicated very clearly through Expedia how parking worked, and that we needed a reservation with a garage 100m away. We also needed to register our car license plate with the city, as the hotel is in a controlled traffic area. The hotel managed the city registration and parking registration for us! Also, directions to the parking garage were perfect. Parking and driving in Ortigia can be challenging, but it's not nearly as difficult as in central Palermo, for example. The property is an older hotel with "classical" decor, but it's in really good shape. It's very close to the water in the Ortigia area of Syracusa, which is an historic, walkable area. Everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and equivalent in style to other hotels in Sicily. The bad: Not really bad, but weird? The staff brought up an oscillating fan with a misting feature to help cool the room. It seemed the hotel (and room) had central air, but I guess they don't turn on central air in April? Maybe they wait until summer. Anyway, the room got hot during the day, even with the fan, but we opened the windows at night and let the cool air in. Also, we asked for restaurant recommendations nearby, and it seems the staff doesn't eat out nearby that much. They did point us to one street and marked a few spots on a map, but couldn't remember the names. We did find an excellent restaurant (Scuola Alimentare) and wine bar (Evoe)."

"This is easily one of the most charming and wonderful hotel stays that we have had in years. We would not only stay here again, but highly recommend it. "Very nice city hotel. Hotel is well-situated for exploring Ortigia. Room, with a view of the water, was quite nice and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast buffet was as expected for a property of this caliber. Hotel is located within restricted zone, so it was possible to drive to hotel but then necessary to valet park (at 50 Euros/day). We also walked to the archeological park and museum in Siracusa although this was quite a ways. There is a rooftop outdoor lounge that has a view but seems too hot for afternoon use and a bit too cool for the evening during our late October visit. We highly recommended this hotel."
