“Excellent”
First impression was of the smiling porter taking my bag off me before i reached reception. Reception staff were friendly and extremely efficient. The room was very clean and very well appointed. No complaints at all. In a very convenient location and the value for money is exceptional. Have just rebooked for my next 2 London visits.
“Good service, rooms less impressive”
The hotel was extremely welcoming and provided excellent customer service. That said, the room itself was small and not very well equipped, and the rate was on the high side. Perfect if you get a decent room, and in an excellent location - this hotel is good for short breaks or when you're happy to pay extra for a more luxurious location.
“Really Good Experience”
We found this a very pleasant hotel in a very convenient location. Being in age bracket from 55 - 62, our 3 person party found the "non-modern" ambience of the hotel very much to our liking; it had an elegance and atmosphere that we really liked. It was very convenient to museums and tube to Harrods etc. The staff were very helpful. We would definitely return to The Regency.
“Regency for one night”
Clean, friendly and convenient. And reasonably priced.
“Handy for Exhibition Row and Albert Hall”
Our room was very small and the TV was also tiny. Looked out onto a wall and my wife found the fans outside very noisy. It was very clean and the staff were good but I don't see how it makes **** rating to be honest but it was fine for 2 nights. It was very close to South Ken Tube (6-8 minute stroll), Albert Hall (14 minute stroll), Museums (12 minute stroll), Hyde Park (16 mins). Asked for coffee for two in the lounge and got 6GBP coffee and 3GBP biscuits (all 6 of them)!
“Not impressed”
I picked this hotel as it was so well rated on various travel review sites plus centrally located. First the good - great location, reasonable price for the location. Now the bad - we got a tiny pokey room in the corner of the hotel - the bed was butted up against a corner in the room so you could only walk around it on one side and the foot end. The bathroom was very small and the shower was low pressure. There was virtually no info in the room about the hotel facilities - only the restraunt information, no information about the spa/gym facilities which I discovered by accident. The english breakfast was adequate but basic, the sausages were very salty for some reason - we were given a discount voucher though for breakfast which was nice. The decor was old fashioned and tired looking, the wood in the lift needed a serious revarnish. No parking with the hotel but there was a out door car park around the corner - we had to ring them to get them to open up half an hour after they should have done when we left Sunday morning (not the hotel's fault at all but relevent if you plan to park at the near by parking). Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, I felt we got a 'cheap room' to match the price we paid. The staff were very friendly though. Pity about the experience as this is a great location.
“OK but poor service”
Experienced some annoyances that happen to everyone occasionally but they all happened together on this weekend - queue of people at 15:00 waiting for rooms to be cleaned (check-in was advertised as 14:00), banging on door and telephone at 08:00 despite Do Not Disturb due an eviction attempt directed at the wrong room, and the hotel lost my credit card after I gave it over for pre-authorisation and then declared it was "impossible" they hadn't given it back. Hotel was reasonably comfortable and quiet enough but service failed them for this stay - I won't go back.
“Hotel Condition”
The air conditioning in the room was not working, meaning that the window had to be opened for ventilation resulting in heavy traffic noise. I was told that the air conditioning was switched off in all the room until May. The wireless connection in the room did not work. When I changed room it did not work in the second room either so that I had to use my computer in the reception area and then the business centre.
