This hotel was only a year old when we visited in Sep 2013. Built with a modern chic contemporary feel, you have to be amazed at its innovation. It also provides water skiing, kayaking and some basic beach activities for free. The room we had was spacious, fun (yes, fun) and serviced twice a day. If I'm not wrong, this is a 4-star hotel but if you have a 5-star budget, try it out.
We had a fantastic time at this very unique hotel in Grand Baie. It's got a frenchy vibe as the island was formally a french colony before it was claimed by the English. I would describe the hotel as a Soho house style place on a tropical beach - we loved it. The beach area is small but very private & well appointed. It's worth making use of their catamaran, canoes or go snorkeling trips every morning, this is all free.
Flat island trip is a must, but take loads of sunblock!
We were extremely satisfied with this place. It is great value for money and well worth staying. It is not a top resort but you get the next best thing. Please make sure you ask or pay for an upgrade to a beach view room. It is definitely worth it as they are larger rooms with a great outlook. The service was fantastic and the meals are nice. although after the 4th dinner, it did get a bit repetitive. Just be aware that Mauritians don't eat a lot of sugar or salt so westerners, you are forewarned. They don;t have fresh milk or cream either, everything is powered. The brewed coffee in the morning at breakfast is bearable but you wont find anything else that you can drink.
If you are going into the nearest town, take the bus or TELL the taxi driver you will only pay 1/3 of the first rate you are given and stick to it. if they wont come down, start walking and you will have a taxi approach you within in 2 mins. Be prepared to be ripped off by taxi drivers and make sure you set the price first.

We selected low season and lowest cost option to fit our budget and our stay was above expectation.
Our room was large, serviced daily and facilities fully met our needs. Breakfast was included but so was either water skiing, banana boat or glass bottomed boat three days a week.
WiFi was available free from reception s well as from a library upstairs.
Staff were friendly and polite.
I would definitely choose to stay again if our circumstances allowed.

Excellent value small hotel with very good food. We didn't have half-board but should have done so because we ate in most evenings and we were never disappointed nor did we have the same dish twice in 16 nights. Breakfast is limited for British tastes but the small health spa and gym opposite has a good cafe if fruit and cake isn't your thing.
Staff extremely helpful but a reasonable command of French is useful. Internet access in the courtyard seating area was always reliable.
We arrived in hotel at around 1800hrs. A good welcome by staff. I had booked a room with buffet breakfast. Since we are pure vegetarians we could not find food of our taste, Staff was so helpful they immediately called the chef for our demand, we requested for aloo pratha ( indian taste) specially for only two of us. Trust me, they provided us the best breakfast, we enjoyed the breakfast. For next 3 days when we came for breakfast they treated us nicely with food of our choice. Ambiance of the hotel was very good. We enjoyed water activities in the resort. It was great experience. I would definitely prefer the same resort for my next trip.
