Good Value

Posted 12-May-2014
Pros: Priced right. Freeway easy off, easy on. Close to several restaurants
Clean, courteous, convenient. What do you mean, Expedia? What the heck else is there to say that is needed to qualify a mid priced hotel?

Four Day Stay

Posted 08-May-2014
Pros: It was CLEAN and they cleaned it daily. It was located perfectly for what we needed. The restaurant had good food.
Cons: Make sure you get a room on the bottom floor, on the out side. Where you can have your vehicle parked right outside your door.
Location: It is in a very good location.
Our Daughter lives very close to this Hotel and we stayed here for convenience sake. I read all the reviews and they didn't sound too great, but they all claimed to be clean. Our room was clean and they cleaned it every day and we had no problems. There were no traces of any critters. The place is old and some what run down. People live there with their kids as they work in the area. The room had recently been painted and attempted to be updated. The carpet was stained as you walked in the door. We didn't walk around bare footed. The air conditioner had what looked like old dried up moldy stuff in it. It didn't smell but you could see the stuff behind the screen and it was all crusty and flaky. The bed was comfortable. After reading reviews, I chose to take extra pillows and was glad I did. The thin bead spread was enough for us, but there were no extra blankets. Over all, the experience was alright and worked for us this time. Not sure we will ever stay there again. Can't say I felt completely safe. You certainly do get what you pay for and...we didn't pay very much. We got 4 nights for the price of one at a higher end place. Nothing against the staff, it's just the clientele the cheap Hotel caters too. We did eat at the restaurant and they had fast, friendly service with good Mexican food. We never ate the breakfast provided but my husband would go up front and get coffee every morning. He said it always looked fresh and some one would be up there eating.

Even low standards not met

Posted 18-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
I used this hotel to attend a UNT graduation ceremony. The value of the room did not match the rate charged. I am not a picky person, but the basics should be functional. I had to fill up the toilet tank with the ice bucket to make it funcitonal. The heater and TV did work. The shower had flow problems. The continental breakfast was a joke which just BARELY allows them to state that they have one. Without going into all the details, the facility has been used hard over the years and everything shows it. Many of the rooms are being reworked to make them functional again, but the rooms are a patchwork of reworked construction. There are many better options of similar price around the UNT area. In summary, my low standards were not met at this facility.

Not what I expected

I think they gave us the dirtiest room they had. The carpet was very badly stained. The furniture was not clean and broken. I usually get an average qualtiy room. This was not.

Pass on this one

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: See above.
Location: About 4 miles from the Best Western Plus where we had a lovely second night stay.
The outside of the hotel needed paint, the door to the room appears to have been beaten, the mattress in the 2nd room had a large stain that appeared to be blood, and that room had been sprayed heavily with some sort of perfumed spray. The GFI plug to the microwave in that room was at least 1/4 inch out of the wall. The toilet in our room ran and the tub drained very slowly. After my brother changed rooms (the perfumed smell was giving him a migraine), the tub in the alternate room leaked out onto the floor. We would have left immediately if we could find a room elsewhere. We did change hotels for our second night.

One of the lowest class, worst hotels I have ever booked through you. I have pictures if the hotel condition I will be happy to send you. You should remove this location from your choices!
