“Very nice”
convenient, clean, friendly staff
“Good hotel when visiting UT Austin”
Stayed two nights in a nice suite with separate bedroom with 2 queen size beds. There was also a small kitchen. Hotel was quiet. Close to an excellent Indian Restaurant: The Clay Pot. About a 10 minute walk to the UT Austin campus. Doorman was always friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Stayed two nights but housekeeping did not clean and make up our room.
“Friendly and convenient”
Friendly and very attentive service. Convenient location with a free shuttle to and from downtown locations.
“Would recommend”
Love this place! All the staff were super nice, our room was newly renovated and also really nice. Complimentary shuttle was fantastic. Location convenient to bus to/from the airport, 6th St and UT.
“Doubletree Suites Austin”
Friendly, helpful, non-intrusive staff. Large updated suites. Comfortable beds.
“Awesome hotel”
Customer service was great. The hot tub & pool are private and the pools not below zero like most hotels. I booked a suite so it had a cute little kitchen where we kept our leftovers from all the restaurants we went to. There's a convenience store right around the corner. A few blocks from the bars on sixth and fourth so if you want a petty cab they expect a good tip due to the two uphills they have to take to get you back to the hotel. There's a shuttle that takes you anywhere within a two mil radius so you can get a ride to the bars without worries. All in all it was one of the best hotels I've found in downtown Austin.
“Usually great hotel with one very bad morning.”
Hotel was under construction. Didn't have prior warning. Construction started at 7am. On a SATURDAY. No warning of this, either. Was given free breakfast to make up for it. Yippee. (that's sarcasm) I almost always stay here when visiting Austin due to its location (I can walk to the game). I eagerly await the look of the rooms when construction is done as the rooms definitely needed fixing up. The carpet is peeling, the bathroom cabinets are water damaged, the refrigerator makes noise all night long, etc. I only wish they'd have warned me that they would wake me up on a Saturday with cement drills and hammers.
“Bachelor/Bachelorette Party Stay”
We stayed at the Doubletree in downtown Austin for our bachelor/bachelorette weekend. It was very comfortable, lots of room and had a great bathroom and kitchen! The room was bigger than my first appartment! I would definitely stay there again.
“Good location”
Great location by Capitol. Parking garage is pricey, about 20 a day. However suite is spacious and kitchenette has amenities. Cons are the elevators took forever and the sink in kitchenette had no water pressure. Will book again only due to. Convenient location.
“Near the Capitol Building”
I had a fairly last-minute need for a hotel within easy walking distance of the Capitol and State Bar offices. I got a very reasonable rate at this hotel, just across the street from the location of my bar seminar and two blocks from the Capitol. The University was a few blocks directly north, so it was within easy walking distance, too. I was able to park in the secure, underground garage for a fee that was charged to my room. The hotel has room service and a nice bar and dining facility on the first floor. I did not have a chance to check out the fitness facilities and pool. The entire hotel is non-smoking. My suite was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was roomy, and I was pleased to see a pretty complete kitchen setup. There were TVs in both the sitting area and bedroom. Nice views of the city from the 8th floor. I would definitely go back and would recommend to others.
