friendly greeting from day1 today 7. food excellent, facilities excellent especially pool and gym and sauna. easy access to surrounding shops and restaurants. great views and no out of order tourists as this was a quiet area well policed. felt safe anywhere. really good for cyclists even though I am not one. weather at end of September very good. Prices in hotel slightly expensive but not expensive in relation to the surroundings and the service. dress code was good and not dictatorial. Maid service excellent.
We had a very pleasant 3 night stay at the Hotel last week (18th-21st Oct).
The reception area is usually quite busy throughout the day..we had to wait for 10 minutes or so for check-in.
Breakfast and dinner served was good....there was quite some variety so one can't complain.
Some people might complain the food served is cold but bear in mind the dinner starts at 18:30 till 21:00 so the later you arrive the colder the food would get.
The staff is extremely helpful and so is the room service...there is a locker and mini bar service available for hire but we did not use.
Beach is literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel and drive to airport takes around 10 minutes. Bus stop to Palma is around the corner.
There are plenty of shops and eateries available nearby too.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
We stayed in hotel Balmes in September 2014 and overall felt it was a great value, well positioned hotel with friendly and helpful staff. I would definately recommend it to others looking for cheap hotel close to the beach.
Don't get me wrong - it's not perfect but for the price we paid it's very good value. All of the staff seemed helpful and friendly and actually wanted the guests to enjoy their stay. That makes a really big difference to any holiday and this, combined with the fact it's not a huge hotel, made it seem a welcoming place for us to return to each night. The clientele is a mix of all nationalities. We heard British, German, French, Russian and Swedish voices at breakfast and the surrounding area reflects this. Local bars and restaurants can serve you anything from currywurst, pizza, paella, Chinese food, even British Indian Restaurant (BIR) style curry!
Food in the hotel restaurant is mixed but with careful selection you can always make a good meal from the various offerings in the plentiful buffet. Themed nights run three times a week (Mallorcan night weds, Japanese night Fri, Italian night Mon) but on other nights there is some variation and always some staples such as chicken drumsticks and fries. The humble French stick bread is of excellent quality! Some authenticity is lost by the use of local ingredients - anyone for Japanese noodles made with spaghetti?! The breakfast buffet is pretty good except for the very dodgy frankfurter sausages.

Mini break. Could not have chosen a more ideal hotel and location. Short transfer time from airport, friendly and accommodating staff, pleasant room (requested sea view, which was limited, nevertheless satisfactory). Room had balcony with table and two chairs, which was delightful to take in evening breeze. Short stroll to beach and restaurant strip. Hotel pool. Spa facilities available. Excellent choice of good for breakfast and dinner. Lunch provided by bar, which consisted of simple meals/ snacks.
Great hotel. We didn't use the pool as it was so close to the beech. Very clean. Rooms cleaned everyday. Resort itself is beautiful. The beech is lovely and un crowded An unspoilt part of Majorca. Would def go to this hotel again.
