"My cousin and I were coming to the area for a family birthday celebration that weekend, so we decided to travel down a day earlier, as we love Portsmouth harbour and its naval history. This hotel was situated in a very convenient area for us to visit the dockyard, and have a good choice of where to eat"

"The hotel is just beautiful. Very grand but not pretentious. The room we had was big and very comfortable. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room, complementary still & sparkling water. Iron & ironing board in the room. Beautiful large bathroom and shower. Staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced. Could not recommend enough. East walking distance to the town centre. Great breakfast selection. Everything you could wish for."

"My kids live with their mother, which is 2 hours away, my daughter had a dance so we booked this hotel specifically to spend the day with my children because it's advertised as having a pool. It does have a pool, but you have to pay £5 per hour to use it per person AND there's lots of closed off times that you can't use the pool. None of this information is shared on Hotels.com. I would NOT have booked this room had I known that upfront"

"Beds were comfy. Breakfast was amazing. Only trouble was staff forgot to clean the room so we did not have fresh towels and tea/cofee refills after the first night. But when we informed the desk, they immediately sent someone with it. It shows how helpful the staff are and how quickly they corrected this. Amazing hotel and look forward to staying there again"

"I must say the meal we had was very very poor not worth £17 at all very disappointing unfortunately we are staying another night because of weather & my husband not being well so it’s proving to be expensive for us ! Going back to your menu we only had a Katsu curry only 3pieces of chicken 😡"

"We couldn’t take full advantage of what the hotel had to offer. As it was a stopover. The room we stayed in was lovely. Also the view was lovely. Hopefully we can come again so we can enjoy the hotel for longer. "
