20 mins walking distance to NEC

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: Friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price
Cons: Furniture and carpets need updating. Cleaning staff need monitoring.
Location: 20 mins walk to NEC
Arrived at 8pm and struggled to find a parking spot. Ended up at the back of the hotel and helpful staff directed us to reception. Room was a standard size, but furniture is shabby and in need of an update. Bathroom not cleaned well as found price tickets from previous occupant stuck to wall. However, was quiet and even though hotel was fully booked we weren't disturbed. Had a burger and beer in the bar. Food of a good quality, arrived quickly and bar staff polite and helpful. Walked to the NEC via the train station and took 20 mins to main hall. Wouldn't recommend walk at night or if on own. Not worth paying for at full price, but booked at a discount rate 2 weeks before. Would use again if could do the same.

Excellent hotel at a very convenient location

Posted 08-Dec-2014
Pros: All the facilities we were requiring. The staff were excellent and even rang to check that the room was up to our expectations. Very good food also.
Location: The NEC complex is within walking distance and a train station is nearby to travel to Birmingham, etc.
We stayed at the Arden to be close to the LG arena which is in easy walking distance and with easy travelling to Birmingham.

Close to the NEC

Posted 07-Nov-2014
Pros: The large TV and comfy seating.
Cons: The bedroom was a little dated.
Location: I was there for an exhibition at the NEC and always try stay at The Arden.
There was mix up over which nights I was staying and I was charged £ 175 for the third night which is almost as much as for previous 2 nights. At least a room was available !!!

Duur en oubollig hotel.

Posted 17-Oct-2014
Pros: Het uitchecken.

Stayed at the Hotel as we were visiting NEC

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: The staff were friendly and the facilities good.
Cons: The bathroom in our room needs an overhaul.
Location: It was a ten/fifteen minute walk from NEC, the route was not clearly marked. I would have thought the NEC would have put some signs up!
We found out afterwards that we could have booked this room cheaper if we had booked it through Grand Stand Media. Part of the walk to the NEC was through undeveloped commercial land at the back of the hotel, not very nice in the dark! It was not signposted at all although the Receptionist at the hotel did give us a map. Room was clean and adequate but bathroom needs an overhaul. Staff were very pleasant.

Good leisure centre

Posted 12-Oct-2014
Pros: The leisure centre
Cons: The cleaning of the rooms 159
Location: N a
The staff were very unhelpful and at times quite rude, my room was ok the bed was comfortable but the bathroom wasn't clean pink body fat marks on the wall around the bath , the floor had not been cleaned a build up of dirt and muck around the edge of the bath. On a good note the food very nice. The leisure centre staff were very polite and helpful.

Close to airport and NEC for Leisure Industry Week

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Pros: Opening times of leisure club and locality
Cons: change the carpets and curtains Unfortunately chose not to eat here due to old smell
Location: We were here in business so was close to NEC, however got lost trying to find it at night as not well sign posted
This was close to our location and reasonably priced. As Fitness Enthusiasts the Leisure Club helped us choose this hotel. The hotel itself was rather smelly. Not because it wasn't clean, but more likely the carpets and curtains hadn't been renewed since the early 90's leaving the moth smell. The Gym also was in dire need of updating with no centre pull roll to clean down the machines and very old mats we certainly had fun trying to have a decent workout. The pool looked pleasant enough although we didn't use it..
