Weekend Barcelona Experience

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: The whole experience from when we arrived to our departure was superb, rooms were fantastic, staff friendly and breakfasts were perfect
Cons: Nothing really - just maintain the high standards the hotel has set
Location: Location was in a pleasant residential area, with easy access to the Les Tres Torres Metro station, which gives full access to the whole of Barcelona
Excellent weekend break in the Hotel Primero Primera, we would definitely return to this hotel, situated in a quiet residential area of Barcelona, but literally 10 mins walk to the nearest Metro station Les Tres Torres

Great little gem away from the main 'drag'

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Decor, staff, general ambience.
Very attentive (but not intrusive) staff. Great little pool and garden with free water and coke/diet coke poolside. Also, the 'minibar' (no alcohol) was free and re-stocked daily. Beautiful place, in a nice, quiet residential area. Staff were always willing and able to assist. We did take our 11 year old and there were other kids staying at the hotel however, i would probably recommend this as a romantic venue.

A haven of true quality

Posted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: We've already discussed this as we left and could honestly not think of a thing
Location: Location is in a generally residential area but don't let that put you off.
Most of us have stayed in a variety of hotels, but surely few of us will stay in a better city centre one. Let's get the only MINOR hiccup out of the way.... it's not in the centre of the city. However because it's so close to one of the Metro stations we found the reality was that it was close to everything and, more importantly, provided a haven of true quality that immeasurably enhanced our enjoyment of our 5 day Barcelona break. The room, furnishings, linen, bathroom, breakfast (especially the strawberry jam!) were first class and the staff were superb. The pool is less one for swimming and much more for a cooling down dip after a hot & tiring day of sightseeing. We loved the fact that by virtue of not having their own restaurant that the recommendations they provided enabled us appreciate the area as well as a variety of different cuisine. Each one was superb, and by not being in a tourist area, it was also excellent value. We've already recommended it to all our family and friends.

Lovely hotel out of central Barcelona

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: Lovely rooms and nice lounge. The outdoor pool and garden area is a small oasis in a big city.
Cons: More seasoned staff. They mean well but are very young and do not know the answers to some basic questions, like how much a taxi costs to the station.
Location: Near Tres Torres station. Not a lot to do near by - you need to take a train to Catalunya station to be near museums and shops.
The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is fine, but a bit limited (no hot food, and one can only eat so many pastries). We found service to be well-meaning but a bit inconsistent (different information from different young staff members, and one day the maid left her passkey in our room.) Although in a nice area of town, we probably would not stay here again as it is a subway ride away from central Barcelona and it's a small hassle to catch the train every day. (To get here from the airport, it required 3 separate trains/metro lines with 3 separate tickets, as Barcelona's metro is run by different companies.) It's a residential/commercial neighbourhood (lots of medical offices), and there's not a lot around for restaurants or shops. Some, but not a lot. For the price, you could get something nice a bit closer to more sights.

Quiet hotel but close enough to Metro.

Posted 10-Aug-2014
Pros: Quiet and peaceful with helpful staff. They allowed us to use our room until our departure at 3.30pm.
Cons: Ability to pre-book tickets to sights via the hotel. You could do this online but need to remember your security details!
Location: Location was away from the main centre, so nice and quiet and peaceful. A very safe area which is great if you are coming back late at night.
Great comfortable hotel, with clean, quiet & air conditioned rooms. Free mini bar drinks in room & soft drinks/snacks in lounge. Free wi-fi & free use of hotel computer a plus. Pool was only open 12 noon to 8pm & was very small - did not see anyone using it! Staff were very friendly and helpful - knew where all the sights were and best way to get there etc. Breakfast was continental style, so no british fry ups! Also close to supermarkets and some good restaurants. It would be wise to book tickets for main attractions in advance - the queues were very long, 2hrs plus! We were warned about pick pockets by friends and also the taxi driver to the hotel! We had no problem but keep your valuables out of sight and difficult to access - one hotel staff member told us the pick pockets are not violent so the law cannot punish them unless they are caught in the act. In general we felt very safe in the centre of Barcelona late at night - just be sensible. The Gaudi sights are a must and a late night visit to the Magic Fountain was a great end to a busy day!

Quality Hotel in Quiet Location

Posted 28-Jul-2014
A stunning boutique hotel, set in a quiet residential area, but only 10 minutes by metro from the bustle of the Barcelona centre. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Hotel and room d├ęcor surpassed expectations. An excellent choice for that "special" holiday.

Quiet Tree Lined Neighborhood

Posted 11-Jul-2014
Cons: Elevator a bit slow and small but that's normal for. Europe. This hotel is great!
Beautiful and cool Primero Primera. End of our 4 country Euro trip a very pleasant surprise. Very well priced and just so nice. Lovely neighborhood away from all the craziness of Barceloneta but within a quick cab ride if you are looking for the crazy beachside nightlife. There are bars and tapas places very close by that were enough fun and excitement for us without heading downtown. Staff are cool, fun, and very helpful - especially Eva. So nice and great with recommendations for dinner out. Side note, Primero Primera understands that - instead of nickel and diming guests with room service fees, inflated food prices, and wifi tariffs - provide free non-alcoholic drinks and snacks and enjoy the more long term benefits of repeat customers and word of mouth referrals. It's the principal of being charged for every little thing at other places I don't like - not the actual insignificant dollar amount. Not here. It's a cool sophisticated place to stay in a great non-touristy location with great facilities and very comfortable. Definitely coming back!

Excellent out of town Hotel in good location.

Posted 06-Jul-2014
Excellent Hotel in quiet, upmarket area of Barcelona. Warm welcome from attentive staff as well as excellent, high quality facilities make this a good location to get away from it all, but also gain easy access to all areas of Barcelona. Highly recommended.
