“Good choice for Convention”

Nice, clean, and well run. I enjoyed the free drinks each day with mini bar. It is a great option if you have work at the convention center. Ask for a high floor with a city view... lovely.

“Nice hotel”

It was a nice hotel, the location was excellent , there was a mall next to it. The only negative part of the room was the bathroom setup. I recommend this hotel to other.

“Well pleased”

Although some way away from the city centre the stay at the hotel was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing wrong are the two pools. They are very small.

“Would stay again”

Had an enjoyable 3 night stay at this hotal. The room was clean and comfortable, staff in reception were very helpfull and most spoke English. Did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food but the breakfast buffet did look nice. They also have 6 pc's for guest to use free of charge and you can print. Room was on the 21st floor with a nice view over the city but with only 3 lifts that go all the way to the top floors, it sometimes took a while waiting for a lift to arrive. If you're not good with heights, it is best to ask for a room on one of the lower floors as the back of the lift is all glass and on the outside of the building also to get to our room you had to walk across a all glass walk way which gave a lovely view, but again, if your not good with heights this may not be for you. Hotel is on the outskirts near a beach (10 minute walk away) but the metro is only 1 minute walk away so would be a good base for getting into the centre of town.

Family-friendly activities

ILLA Fantasia water park. Has a really nice day at this water park. There is a free bus to take you there and back from right outside the hotel.

Other

Advised on one of the websites to get the Airport Bus back to the Airport from Espanya Station on the blue line. Would not do this again as there are quite a lot of stairs up from the station to the road to catch the bus (no escalators). My arms were klling me.

“Great hotel, helpful friendly staff - but mixed response to meals!”

Good room - although could not get room temperature right for a good night's sleep but I may have been restless anyway, who knows? - but experience let down by tepid temperature of evening's soup and Spanish omelette and poor breakfast.

“Very helpful staff & nice hotel.”

Very helpful staff, particularly in reception. Nice modern hotel, located next to a shopping mall, at the seaside end of Avenida Diagonal. Free WiFi and Minibar. This is a newly built residential area, very quiet and safe. Hotel is located close to a metro stop but I had a hire car. . Hotel offers a valet parking service but hotel is accessible directly from car park via a lift, if you arive after 10pm. I have stayed here before and the restaurant food was very good, unfortunately it was closed this time but room service food was very good and reasonably priced for 4* hotel.

Area recommendations

Location suited me at the seaside end of Avenida Diagonal as I was on business, My clients are located all over Barcelona and this hotel is close to Ronda Littoral, the seaside ring road around Barcelona. Metro is also close by if you do not have a car and want to be outside the hustle & bustle (and traffic) in the centre.

“NOT impressed - would NOT recommend to anyone!”

After letting the staff know that our visit would be the 1st time that I had seen my husband in 6 months (he's currently deployed in Afghanistan & was beginning his R&R - we stayed there before leaving for our cruise the following day), I had expected so much more from this establishment. We were told that our room had been upgraded....glad that we were told...would not have noticed otherwise. Our room was uncomfortable...the bed hard, the "half" shower door left the small bathroom floor wet & the sitting room furniture was very hard...I should know...I slept on the couch because the street noise kept me awake all night (I hadn't seen my husband for 6 months & didn't even get to sleep in the same bed because we both were so irritable from the noise & the bed that I eventually just gave up & slept on that hard little couch...great way to start a very special vacation!). Would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone unless you require little sleep, enjoy uncomfortable bedding, a cramped bathroom, street noise & their shabby, outdated decor.

Area recommendations

For those leaving on a cruise, stay closer to the port...very nice hotels in that area. Pricer but the area & quality of the hotels near the port far exceeded the Hotel Barcelona Princess....it would have been well worth the difference for us!

Getting around

Although we didn't experience the pickpocket-ers, we knew of several that did on our cruise...many stayed in this area, others in the Rambla vicinity. Sad to hear of vacationers losing several hundred dollars, without even knowing of the incident until they went to retrieve their cash...the offenders are very good at their craft. Locals warned us so often that I was very uncomfortable for most of our time outside the room....carry small amounts of cash & stay alert in crowds.
