“Small clean and comfortable”
This is a small, clean comfortable place to stay especially if you are travelling on a tight budget. It is located at the hub of Bangkok activity yet is in a relatively quiet part of a busy district.
“Aki”
This hotel is reasonable and affordable. But elevator seems to be under construction. It was quite tough to go up to my room in the 4th floor by stairs. It is a little far from Sukhumvit Rd though we can walk. TOKTO is availabe, but it is not so convenient.
“Hotel on a budget, but worth paying extra to get somewhere better.”
Me and my thai girlfriend stayed here in January 2010. I was here for 3 nights. The hotel is located quite a long way down Soi 8. The hotel has a golf cart that can take you to the end of Soi 8, near Nana BTS. Soi 4 is where the main nightlife is and is about a 10 mins walk from the end of the street. There are 2 7/11's in Soi 8. Some small food stalls selling various thai foods. There are a couple of bars and shops, but it is mainly hotels and residents. The hotel is quite old and has no lift. There are only 3 floors. The rooms are a bit dated. It is a small boutique style hotel. LCD TV in room and free coffee and tea. The bathroom was adequate if small. The view out of the window was straight onto another building. At night, but more so in the morning there was a real issue with dogs barking. This was my main bug bare. The breakfast buffet is quite good. There is toast, bacon, a couple of chinese dishes and they will cook eggs (averagely) to order. The breakfast room just has small fans in it and it gets very hot in the morning. I think the hotel could do with an update. The staff were OK. Fairly quiet and not overly welcoming. Their were free DVDs to utilise in reception and the rooms had a DVD player. I would try other hotels on another stay and the dogs barking nearby left a negative impression. We were given a room to shower in (after we checked out), which was appreciated, in light of our complaint over the noise with the dogs.
“Quaint hotel, much to be desired”
I stayed here for two nights. The condition of the hotel is not what I expected. In the room there were stains on the walls and the paint was peeling off. The towels provided also should probably be thrown out. There is no elevator and I was on the top floor, I guess I could use the exercise. It's a quaint little hotel, and the staff is friendly enough, however you can find much nicer accommodations for around the same price range in the Sukhumvit area.
“suitable for lovers and friends”
it's exact what I want... everything is perfect...except the guide in hotel...he charges so high...
“Quiet Hotel in the heart of Bangkok”
Tucked away on Soi 8 off Sukhumvit Road, Salil Hotel is a charming boutique hotel. Service was great and rooms were spacious. And I felt safe there as a single women traveller. They even have a 24hr golf buggy service to get you to/from the hotel to Sukumvit Road. Would recommend.
“Would stay again”
Great little hotel, good value for money in a city which is becoming more expensive for hotels. We got upgraded to a deluxe room, which was great very roomy. Good location, a 10 min walk to Nana BTS station.
“Exceptional value! Fantastic breakfast! Going back next week!”
We booked Salil because reviews online were largely entusiastic and the price was right. The location is an easy walk to the skytrain and the hotel will happily drive guests to the main intersection. If you are coming to Bangkok for the first time, this hotel is a great choice. Skytrain is everything. The service is very charming, gentle and infused with Thai smiles. We had the least expensive room type and it was small but well-designed and comfortable. And it was very, very clean. Bangkok has hundreds of hotels but we're staying here at Salil again at the end of our Thailand trip before returning home.
