Our experience at the hotel was very comfortable and enjoyable. Based in the city centre we found this hotel was close to the Town Hall and all the shops.
The hotel staff were very nice and welcoming and catered for all our needs when we arrived as we had booked the triple room and needed a third bed for our daughter who was travelling with us.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Valencia as it is so cosy and friendly.
My wife and I spent five nights at the Astoria Palace and enjoyed every moment. The staff is very friendly and helpful and ready to answer any questions and provide you with maps and directions, etc.
The room was large, very clean, comfortable bed.
"GREAT HOTEL, LOCATION AND FRIENDLY, HELPFUL STAFF"
This was a real surprise and great value considering the standard of hotel and location. The receptionist was really helpful, giving me a map and marking on it in pen useful info such as bus route numbers etc. We upgraded to room with a view which was good but I wouldn't worry as the room standard of rooms without a view was just as good. We'd like to have enjoyed the spa but wasn't told that it's actually closed on Sundays and Mondays which is when we were staying - this should really be made clear on the hotel info. It does say as much on the hotel's own website but Expedia should include this info.
The hotel is located on the edge of the old section of the city which is filled with shops and restaurants. I found a cafe two blocks away that had the best croissants and coffee for breakfast. The hotel is also a short walk from the Metro stop that takes you quickly to the beach or universities ( we were in Valencia to visit my daughter who is going to school here for the semester). The only negative is the wifi which has a weak signal but if you are on vacation, is that a bad thing?
We stayed for the weekend and enjoyed every moment. Staff were helpful and friendly, polite and professional. Great location. Just a tram ride away was the Holy Grail. Beautiful architecture. 10/10 mini break!
