“on budget, good choice &great location”
We spent there 9 days, bc Valencia really deserve that time and even 3 to 4 days more. Hotel proves to be at a good location to reach the beach (bus 2& metro line 5) city of arts and science (bus 95) and on a walking distance to old city. The New City with big stores, cafes, large supermarket etc is on a 50m walk, metro from the airport (take 3 or 5 line change on Angel Guimera to line one, one stop to Turia) is right in front of the hotel, bicycles are available either through hotel or in front of the hotel. Although very boring and with no touch of design hotel rooms are clean, sheets are changed regularly, beds are ok and the bathroom is ok (although no toilet brush!), TV set is old but ok, refrigerator works well, all in all everything for somebody who doesn't ask for much but likes clean room and good sleep. Cleaning staff will not interrupt you if you put the no disturb sign. Bad sides: Internet is expensive and extremely slow. Do not use it at all. Deposit boxes are on the ground floor and cost 2 euro per day. Walls are thin and you can hear every step. We were there at the end of September beg October so not too many guests, and no loud guests, but still every careful step on the upper floor is heard. Staff more or less speaks English and is clear about the directions. Tourist busses stop 50m from hotel. However, do not go to Albufera it costs 15 euro and there is nothing to be seen. Walk as much you can or use a bicycle to check Turia park. Go to Biopark.
“Excellent”
Very convenient for the metro or you can walk into the centre. Staff very helpful. Paid a little extra for a Superior Room which was definitely worth it for the extra space, larger bathroom with bidet, etc. Didn't eat at the hotel as it is easy to find cafes around to have breakfast (churros - yum!) and we ate out in various tapas bars & restaurants around the city. The rooftop pool is nice although there were no umberellas poolside or mattresses on the sunbeds. Would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel - excellent value for money.
“Expo hotel Valencia”
From the airport take the metro and change at Angel Guimera onto the yellow line and go one stop to Turia. The hotel is right outside of the metro entrance and is easily found as it’s the tallest building there. The hotel itself looks a little tired and run down from the outside with some crumbling concrete in the drop off and taxi areas but once inside the lobby it’s much better. Front desk staff were helpful and cheerful enough and directed us to our room with minimum hassle. The room was OK and nothing to worry about. It was clean, the shower, aircon and tv all worked and the beds though slightly firm were clean and comfortable enough. The pool and sunlounger areas are small and get quite busy during the afternoon as it’s a real suntrap. Make sure you take your own towel for the pool as the hotel doesn’t provide them. The hotel is right next to a pretty big shopping mall with a El Corte Ingles. There is a small food area with a things like: McDonald’s, Burger King, pizza, kebab, Chinese restaurant and a couple of café type places if you fancy eating there and not in the hotel. You’re a 15-20 minute easy walk to the old town and a heap of bars and eatery places but be warned, a lot of them won’t be open until quite late in the evening. Eating is usually from 9pm onwards. Head for the Torres de Quart, walk through it and you'll hit bars etc within minutes.
“Pictures are a little diceaving”
The outside of the hotel and the lobby of the hotel are pretty nice. They have a pool on the roof which is also pretty nice. The reason I gave the hotel such a low score is because it's really old and outdated. There is nothing special at all about the rooms. The elevators seem really old and have a hard time closing the doors sometimes..which is a little creepy. The hall way (at least the floor we were on) was also kindof creepy looking. We had a room facing the street and the noice from the street wasn't that bad but you could here almost everything from the room next door. If you're going for La Tomatina, it's a great hotel as there were First Festival Tour set up there and another bus that left from there and dropped off at the hotel. We didn't have any plans on how to get to Bunol for La Tomatina but bought tickets the day before for 15 euros round trip from the guy who was set up in the lobby selling tickets. It worked out perfectly. Most of the people in the hotel were English speaking but not all the staff was English speaking. I would say this is a hotel for younger groups traveling cheap and don't mind what the hotel looks like. It's definitely not romantic. It was very clean and very convienent but just really, really old!
“Nice Hotel for Groups”
Stayed here for my sister's hen party in a group of 9 people - it was perfect for us because of the triple rooms. There were also a lot of other groups there so we didn't feel like we were disturbing anyone's romantic holiday! The location is good for the old town (barrio del Carmen and los caballeros for going out etc) however it is about a 15-20 min taxi journey to the beach. The rooftop pool helps to make up for this though - it's a genuinely nice pool and the view is great.
“NOISY STUDENTS took the edge off our stay.”
Having stayed at this hotel previously, with friends for a long weekend, we were tempted by the low price and booked as a couple for 10 days. A totally different experience! It is the hotel of choice for numerous student groups from around the world arriving 2 coachloads at a time for 2-4 day stays. The noise they generated spoilt our stay and the hotel staff did nothing to help remedy the situation. Those accomodated on our floor we found that they preferred to keep their room doors open, shout out of the windows and along the corridor, and generally treat the whole floor as a communal (and very noisy) area. In the evenings our walks to the Barrio del Carmen area became more of a chore as our stay progressed. Evenings spent at the hotel were very quiet (once the students had gone out) - the "Paino Bar" actually had a pianist just once during our stay, and there is little to entice you into the immediate surrounds (apart from the excellent indoor shopping mall during the daytime. That said, the staff were very pleasant and the hotel is a good location for a short stay / larger group. ,Dinner can be repetitive (catering for short stays). You might be better advised to order a club sandwich from the bar - in fact I highly recommend them! (Don't be fobbed off with a "Sandwich Mixta" though if you are hungry. If you are a student - enjoy your stay. If you are after romantic surrounds or luxury, I'd advise you to spend a little more and look elsewhere.
“does what it says on the can”
perfectly good hotel right by the metro and Jardin Turia through which a 20 min walk gets you to the Serrrano gate and the old town for restaurants etc , A hairdryer was the only obvoius ommision. When it turned a bit cold we thought the room might be cold as the heating had been tumed off for the summer ( this was april 22nd ) but actually it was just about warm enough. The pool doesnt open till May so dont expect be be swimming before then . Overall a good experience - I would go back .
“Very Good!”
Was going for the Easter holiday, and this hotel was perfect for what we needed. Right next to the Metro, although we didn't use it much as biking around using valenciaes bikes was much more enjoyable. Good service and clean, would recommend to anyone staying in Valencia.
“very impressive”
very good hotel staff. Considering the price, the hotel is very clean and comfortable.
“Handy Valencian Hotel”
Second time I have stayed here. This time I paid extra for a superior room. Well worth it. Hotel is handy for travel into centre of Valencia. Hotel is next to shopping centre that has some nice eating areas. Will stay again. Internet rates are a bit high.
