"We had a lovely night here. The hotel is really clean with lots of character & beautiful gardens. Our room was cosy, the bed was really comfy & the shower was hot! Plenty of teas& coffees to use & good quality toiletries too. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice of hot food cooked to order & a good assortment of cereals., yogurts & top quality fresh fruits. Thecstaff were all very friendly & helpful. It was a 5 minute walk into Bowness or the lake. Can definitely recommend this hotel. "

"We stayed for 6 days over Easter. The hotel is surrounded by countryside and a few buildings nearby yet is close to Whitehaven. The views are lovely - out to sea and across to Scotland. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were always very friendly. We ate in the hotel most nights, enjoying the well-presented tasty food. My food intolerances were well taken care of.
